Airdate: My Mum Talks to Aliens

Meet the Australian woman who is said to be one of the world's leading authorities on extraterrestrial life.

Later this month SBS screens a documentary that follows the work and personal life of one of the world’s leading authorities on extraterrestrial life, Mary Rodwell (not to be confused with Roswell!).

This Australian woman works in this field all over the world, counselling people who have experience an alien encounter. She has worked in the US, Canada, Asian, European, Russia and other countries but her son is a sceptic. A mother and son Scully and Mulder?

My Mum Talks to Aliens is an intriguing documentary that follows a mother and son on a journey of discovery, as they travel the country in pursuit of solid evidence of an alien presence here on Earth.

There is one issue that is driving a wedge between mother and son – Mary and Chris Rodwell – the existence of extraterrestrial life. Chris is a self-confessed alien sceptic, whilst his mum Mary is a leading global authority on the subject. But her beliefs have come at a cost, her husband left and it is now impacting on her relationship with Chris.

Mary attempts to convince and educate her son, and thus the world about aliens. She introduces her son to her clients who have had first-hand alien abduction experiences, as well as revealing clear, never before- seen footage of UFO’s.

She also visits acclaimed Astrophysicist, Ragbir  Bhatal from the University of Western Sydney. Bhatal is one of only three people in the world whose job it is to scan the skies for alien communications.

Mary may be one of the world’s leading alien abduction councillors, and she may be in demand all over the world for her expert extraterrestrial advice, but can she convince her own son about her out-of-this-world beliefs, and save her most precious relationship of all?

My Mum Talks to Aliens airs 8:30pm Tuesday November 30th on SBS ONE.

  1. We need to stop using the word aliens,we don’t call an African American or Chinese alien. We are all made of the same stuff. For a definitive explanation of the ET experience read Dolores Cannon’s the convoluted universeC

  2. Whats to say there isn’t a higher intelligence out there thats beyond are comprehension.. Those who believe in God is there evidence?
I believe that some people in this world are spirtitual humanism accessible to these
    experiences
Its easy to rant and rave CRazy.. but who really knows.

  3. Using the polygraph test as proof of the extraterrestrial presence is a waste of time, it is not evidence in the strictest form of the word.
By failing to present some real documented evidence this woman has done more harm to the Disclosure movement than good.
Mrs Rodwell wasn’t prepared for this documentary and she missed a great opportunity to get the truth about extraterrestrials out to the sleeping masses.
When she did mention some real witnesses she didn’t take it far enough and got their names mixed up. She mentioned Paul Hellyer, Canada’s ex- minister of National Defence, a man with an insider’s perspective and lots of evidence for the ET presence she didn’t follow through but instead she confused him with Phillip Corso Snr (ex- US military) a man with direct knowledge of the extraterrestrial vehicle that crashed at Roswell in 1947 and writer of “The Day After Roswell”.
Corso was the man whose job it was to disperse ET technology that was gleaned from crashed vehicles, optical fibre, circuit boards etc etc.
Why didn’t she refer to the work of people such as Stephen Bassett and Dr Steven Greer?
Too much time was wasted in attempting to convince her close minded son.
How dare he put such pressure on the dear lady.
I’m sure much of the production wasn’t her idea and if she had it her way we would have seen a much better and convincing production.

  4. In response to Eoin, I know Mary personally, she wrote the forward to my partner’s book: Does It Rain In Other Dimensions? and I can assure you, she is no actor, just as I can assure Secret Squirrel that within the circles of those who do serious research on this subject, she IS a global authority. I would add that serious research includes the study of ancient history, astronomy, physics and quantum physics, ancient myths and legends, symbology, psychology, the nature of consciousness, art through the ages, sacred geometry, and much more. The search for truth requires a deal of hard work and committed persistence. It is very easy to be an armchair scoffer but all such a person does in the end is show up the depth of their own ignorance and bigotry.

  5. It spins me out that our planet is populated disproportionally by people of all races and creeds who believe unquestionangly in a god with No tangible evidence yet question something that so many have actually experienced firsthand. I am an atheist purely because there is no tangible evidence to suggests that god exists, yet I know what I saw on a summer night in 2002 along with all the other residents on my street, all my neighbours, it was broadcast on the news the next day and a school camp on Kangaroo Island was evacuated because all the kids freaked out yet am I the crazy one or are all the billions of people that believe in a god with no proof…

  6. There are too many people of credible statue giving there stories in return for nothing except the lose of their reputation for me to say, ‘no this is bullsh*t’!

God fearing folk and stupid people who follow the flock will say this is crap because God won’t get mad, its easy to say when nobody is pointing and laughing at you, and you might just get a laugh at somebody else’s expanse.

If we can learn to fly then walk on the moon in 60 years, what will we be able to accomplish 1000, 2000, 5000 years from now? The Earth was flat a few hundred years ago and the computer you’re reading this on is more powerful than all the computers combined, that sent man to the moon…

There’s a film called ‘I know what I saw” by a guy called James Fox. A must see film on this subject.

  7. Why would passing a polygraph test be used as evidence in favour of the existence of aliens? It is obvious that most people who claim to have experience aliens really believe in the reality of their experience. So they are telling the truth as they see it and would show no signs of lying.

Besides which scientist tell us that the possibility of life in space is granted but that the nearest planets able to sustain life are not within reach of earth.

How easy is it would be to fake those pictures also. They are pretty inconclusive.

  8. I had a close encounter with two other people,we went into an altered state and lost time.i had to change my thoughts as i believed in science and evalotion and thought when you died that was it,i didnt belive in intelligent life maybe life form under a microscope.now i know what they are spending millions on,trying to find out that there is inteligant life and there crafts are light years ahead of ours.i dont worry when people dont belive and take the micky because i was just like them before feb 13 2005

  9. I watched the show. But if you are going to convince UFO sceptics with your claims of evidence. Present evidence captured on digital camera’s or videos or whatever. Otherwise how can we can possibly believe you?

  10. Secret Squïrrel…. that sort of thinking you are displaying really astounds me. I mean this:

“It’s the prohibitive amount of energy required to lift a spacecraft out of the solar gravity well and transport it all the way over here to our very insignificant star and tiny planet.”

In all seriousness… how arrogant are some of the humans on our planet… that they believe in 2010 we are the most advanced civilisation in the universe… and that other civilisations are not capable of being more advanced than us and able to travel further and faster distances than we can even imagine possible now.

You only have to look at how old this planet is…. and then see the technology we had 10 years ago… or 30 years ago… how about only 100 years ago when the only automobile on the road was a Model T Ford… and 30 years prior to that… we were riding horse drawn carts everywhere.

Yet there could be civilisations billions of years older than us out there… and you reckon they are travelling around in rockets? LOL

  11. I was an extreme sceptic and and would scoff at stories I read in magazines or newspapers. In the summer of 1979 when I was 23, I witnessed along with several other complete strangers a Huge spacecraft that was nearly totally silent , apart from a departing hummm, that blocked out the night sky from horizon to horizon as it passed over us in Brisbane Australia. It communicated with me telepathically ,and let me know its intentions and flight direction and that I could be taken away if i somehow allowed it,.. I began to panic and conveyed the thought that I did not want to leave my one year old son. They made me feel assured all was safe and they proceeded to cruise over the top at probably 2 or 300 feet , approx. I stood transformed immediately into a believer , not knowing how to tell other people , most importantly my immediate family and friends , would my credibillity be questioned ? or could it make me look like a fool ?

  12. @ Secret Squirrel…..Your thinking in the confines of your only knowledge….
There could well be others far in advance of what we know….again thinking we are the most superior beings…..may not necessarily be so.
And if we are getting all these visitors….maybe we are also…not so insignificant.

  13. don’t let your ego get in the way of experiencing and possibly shaking up the beleif system that you are a slave to?

open your mind to other possiblities
    other wise your handicapped.

  14. Guys, no-one is saying that there isn’t intelligent life on other planets, possibly within our own galaxy. It’s the prohibitive amount of energy required to lift a spacecraft out of the solar gravity well and transport it all the way over here to our very insignificant star and tiny planet. That and the ridiculous amount of time it would take to travel the distances involved.

  15. Could I just say….playing devils advocate….
With all the planets and galaxies….known and unkown….
Can you honestly be conceited enough to think that this one little planet…is the only one to be inhabited by living beings?!?!?!?

  16. Anyone who truly believes that Earthlings are the only intelligent life forms in the universe, considering the billions of planets and stars and galaxies, are extremely arrogant. I believe I’m paraphrasing Richard Hawkins, Arthur C. Clark and others.

  17. @Grinspoon – agree. And what’s with the popularity of anal probing? I think that says more about the “abductees” than it does about the “abductors”.

  18. If people really wanted to help those “effected” by aliens, they’d go through the explanations about how it’s not aliens. Not indulge in their misunderstandings of events, dreams, false memories, fantasies ect.
They’d promote rational thinking and education on what may cause people to believe they’ve had an “encounter.” Unfortunately people want to believe so just ignore the fact that nothing is mysterious or strange or unexplainable when you don’t insist it was aliens with out a shred of evidence.

  19. This could go either way. It could be a serious look at a parent-child relationship fractured by diametrically-opposed views, or it may just be be exploitative and nasty. And I say this as a UFO sceptic.

I’m half expecting the “UFO footage” to be the same obvious fakes that keep turning up on youtube.

  20. Give me a f…ing break! This so-called “global authority” doesn’t rate a mention in any serious literature or publication. Visiting other countries and talking bollocks doesn’t make you a global authority on anything other than talking bollocks.

I won’t be watching in case I throw something at the television.
