Aussies in running for Asian TV Awards

Hi-5, My Kitchen Rules, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and Come Dine With Me are amongst the nominees for the Asian TV Awards.

Hi-5, My Kitchen Rules,Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and Come Dine With Me (Australia) are amongst the nominees for the Asian TV Awards.

Hi-5 is nominated for Best Children’s Programme against entries from Japan, South Korea, India, Taiwan and Malaysia.

Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation is up for Best Game or Quiz Show, submitted as an entry from Hong Kong where it presumably airs.

Seven’s My Kitchen Rules is up for Best Reality Programme against shows from Singapore, South Korea and Lifestyle’s Come Dine With Me -also an entry from Hong Kong.

Three of the four are original Aussie formats.

Former Channel Nine finance reporter Karen Tso has been nominated for Best New Presenter or Anchor for her hosting of The Squawk Box on CNBC. Surprisingly, there is no nomination for Anna Coren for her live reporting of the Manila hostage crisis on CNN.

Now in its 15th year, there were close to 1,000 entries from 15 countries, with Singapore dominating the nominees list.

Winners will be announced in Singapore on 9th December.

  1. Psst, another Aussie programme made the list. It was co-produced by Lonely Planet TV in Australia and a joint-production with a Singapore production company. Somehow, Lonely Planet TV wasn’t mentioned as a production company.

  2. What’s going on with MKR? Any word if it is in production? I know AGT and TAR are in production atm and will probably be on air in Feb. but there hasn’t been much talk about MKR.
