Charlie Sheen files for divorce

The Two and a Half Men actor has filed to end his marriage to his third wife Brooke Mueller.

Charlie Sheen’s personal life continues to create headlines in the US.

Following from recent reports about a meltdown in a New York hotel, the Two and a Half Men actor has now filed to end his marriage to his third wife Brooke Mueller.

Documents state that the couple separated the same day as their altercation on Christmas Day 2009, which led to assault charges against him.

Sheen has cited irreconcilable differences for the divorce and indicated in court filings in Los Angeles that the couple have a prenuptial agreement. The couple were married in May 2008 and have twin sons together.

Sheen is seeking joint custody, but is asking a judge not to award his wife any spousal support.

Sheen’s manager continues to deny that the actor was on a drug-fuelled rampage prior to his hospitalisation last week.

Some media in the US have questioned CBS’ response to its top-salaried star as his personal life attracts news headlines, but noting that his sitcom continues to rate.

  1. When will these people learn – if you’re famous, your marriage WILL end in failure! 😉

I Loved Bob Geldof giving Bruce Willis a ‘lightbulb moment’ on Parkinson a couple of years ago in which Geldof proffered that if you are like Willis and view marriage as a finite, tensive entity, then you are choosing to fail from the outset. Willis gave a wonderful pause of contemplation before delivering :

    Willis : Damn. You’re good!
    Geldof : Here’s my card…
