Hey Hey surprises for last bash at Studio 9

Farewell surprises in store for Hey Hey's last ever number in Studio 9, including Geoff Harvey tinkling on a Wertheim Piano.

Hey Hey‘s last ever episode at the historic Bendigo Street studios is planning big surprises for its affectionate farewell.

Daryl Somers is keeping the last musical number under wraps, but TV Tonight understands it will involve all the cast and many of the crew. All of Hey Hey‘s previous musical directors have been invited to participate.

Geoff Harvey will be playing an original Wertheim piano -a lovely touch given the building was the original Wertheim Piano Factory from 1908.

Human Nature will be performing a big Vegas-style number on a staircase.

Also appearing on the show are Jessica Mauboy, Megan Washington, Troy Cassar-Daley, The McClymonts, Akmal Saleh, Pete Rowsthorn and Steve Vizard.

It airs live 7:30pm Saturday on Nine.

  1. Sounds great. Looking forward to this show, and lights, camera, party. Just can’t understand why channel 9 don’t seem to be advertising up a storm for these two shows, for such a big night in 9’s history.

  2. I have seen the Hey Hey promo and it looks great. I havent seen a promo for lights, camera, party yet. Do you know why we aren’t seeing a promo for it David?

  3. Oh Come on! Hey Hey is the best i think it sounds like a great send off for the studios. Good onya Daryl and the gang. Fingers crossed for a renewed contract next year. Haters can kiss my ….TV

  4. The historical, cultural and personal significance of the studio’s last ever live show for everyone past and present in Australian Television would and should outweigh whether or not Hey Hey is being renewed for next year. Thus this final show shouldn’t be overshadowed by ill-informed comments about the show not being renewed next year.
