    Look, yes she could have spent the money on starving children in Africa. and Yes the audience look like a bunch of idiots crying and screaming and so on, but I’d love to see how all YOU would react if it happened to you.

    It’s her last season so give her a break. She said from the beginning it would be the biggest and best season ever – so what did you all expect!?!? She is now just proving it.

    Good on ya Oprah – make the most of it. Her show has been a phenomenal series and TV won’t be the same without it.

  7. I don’t want to sound like a killjoy and I know Oprah has done much humanitarian work over the years but really – would the audience react the same way if she announced she was giving money to the starving in Africa?

    It appears as though we’re living in a Me me me world these days or at least it seems to on Oprah.

    It’ll be interesting what she gives away when she comes here soon – free koalas??

  9. Oprah is a very generous person, and does inspire people to give generously, and obviously you’re going to be excited to get a new car, but… the expression of materialism here is over the top. You’d think they each had been given the news that a loved one thought dead, is actually alive.

  10. Seriously – people crying? It’s nice to get a free car, yes, but you’d think she just announced they’ve discovered a cure for cancer. I’ve never ever seen such fanatical devotion to materialism.
