Pizza jobseekers want to work for Undercover Boss

Since featuring in the first episode of Undercover Boss Australia, a pizza chain has been overwhelmed by job applications.

Nothing like a little bit of TV exposure to boost the company profile.

Since featuring in the first episode of Undercover Boss Australia, Domino’s Pizza has been overwhelmed by job applications.

According to Franchise.net.au, the company has received 3,500 job applications in just two weeks.

Does everybody want to work for CEO Don Meij?

Meij, who was filmed working alongside his employees, says, “Our recent Undercover Boss episode showcased to the nation Domino’s fun loving culture and the excitement and fast pace a job as a pizza maker or delivery driver offers. Since the show aired we have been inundated with job applications by people wanting to work at Domino’s.”

Meanwhile the Rajetarian pizza that was developed by employee and Pizza Delivery driver Raj, has sold more than 15,000 pizzas nationally since the show aired.

Anybody tasted one yet?

  1. So is the Rajetarian vegetarian? That would be awesome, now all we need to do is get a vegan on an episode of Undercover Boss so they will invent a vegan pizza. Ill still buy this rajetairian if it is vegetarian, just to support Domino’s innitiative to include more vegetarian alternatives on their menu

  2. The boost one on monday night was excellent. Janine Allis is someone who id love to work for because she comes across as a great person. I noticed she did her own ad promting her young staff and how good they are. She was also on radio today talking baout it.

I didnt realise she also started Salsas. But it was also good to watch an episode where you have heard of the CEO.

  3. If they could fix the quality of their pizzas, they’d have a lot more customers. Dominos is a disgrace! Would have go be the Worst chain in the country.

  4. The show is blatant PR by companies. The whole staged “I’m stepping down” thing and the fact that they always manage to find the store with a sob story in it (and the obvious probing for sob stories).

  5. I am enjoying UCB Aus. Our CEOs seem more down to earth than the US ones and it is good seeing brands we know.
    Some issues with the show:
    * In the US version they always find at least 1 negative and give an employee a lecture at the end, but in Aus everything is positive. This week when Janine found the employees mucking around instead of restocking in one store and the guy wearing the bag on his shoulder in another I expected those stores to get a warning, but she just fell for their sob stories and everything was good in the end. We need to see bad employees disciplined on the show too. In the Dominos episode they found a store wasting heaps of food and making a mess and that didn’t get a reprimand either.
    * The boss seems to give a couple of employees a bonus and then fix something that is wrong with 1 or 2 stores, but there has not yet been an outcome that improves the whole business and life for all employees. The idea of the show is to find out what is wrong with the business from the inside.
Show is good, but the outcomes are rubbish. Maybe I shouldn’t watch the last 10 minutes.

  6. I have tasted the Rajetarian pizza- It is the Best Dominos pizza flavour!!!

Also the the person who came up with the Rajetarian pizza flavour should get at least 10% of the profits but…. Dominos is too stingy!

  7. I worked at Dominos for four years.. it was a bit of fun.. I didnt hate it… but what I saw on Undercover boss was an absolute joke; a blatant puff piece. They didn’t discuss any negatives at all.. I remember some of the managers I had.. tried to rip off hours, yelled for no reason.. I suppose every job has that though..

It certainly isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. They always were good at marketing.
