Renewed: Junior Masterchef, Undercover Boss Australia.

Two local reality shows on TEN get the thumbs up to return in 2011.

TEN has announced new seasons for Junior MasterChef and Undercover Boss Australia.

It follows good ratings returns for both shows.

Junior Masterchef premiered to over 2.2m and last night took 1.5m viewers. Despite its season being interrupted by the Commonwealth Games it seems set for a strong finish tonight.

Undercover Boss Australia has generated good word of mouth and averaged 1.27m viewers. It will be a challenge for producers to keep the “undercover” secret intact from employees filmed for the second season.

David Mott, Chief Programming Officer, Network TEN said, “TEN has enjoyed a terrific year with
introducing a number of new domestic series to market.

“Once again the audience supports our belief in telling true Australian stories and we thank our production partners in Shine Australia and Southern Star on delivering first class productions.

“With this announcement and more to come, our program line-up of proven domestic hits and the best year from our international studio partners, strongly positions us for the year ahead.”

Last week TEN also renewed drama series Rush for 2011 but confirmed talent show Don’t Stop Believing was cancelled.

  2. Undercover boss is one I like. JMC just doesn’t seel. I watch, but I don’t watch all. I can see there’s to much lovin and a lot less critizin. Come on if it’s a bad dish lets say so! Sttop ending in I’d polish that off, no matter how bad it is!

  3. Oh please more sugary sweet Junior masterchef ……….. I wont be watching ……. These kids can cope with a little but of criticism the issue is the juding of them. Any programme that shed that money viewers

  4. I’m glad they are renewing Junior Masterchef and as long as they can find a better timeslot for Undercover Boss Australia (not at 8:30pm on Mondays because I want GNW back at that timeslot) then I am glad its renewed too.

  5. Love both shows, but I have no idea how they are going to film series two of UB without employees being wise to the ruse they use of the boss being filmed for the day doing work experience. They are going to have to think of some other explanation for the person being filmed , otherwise the show will not remain authentic as employees will soon realise why the person being filmed is only there for a couple of days.

  6. Will be very difficult for them to “go undercover” from now on…. You can tell watching the USA series that these people really know what’s going on

    But it is still entertaining

    Junior Masterchef… Meh..
