Returning: Gossip Girl

Season Four is all about Juliet and her brother's vendetta against Serena, and Blair's rise to the top at Columbia University.

Time to sharpen your claws. Gossip Girl returns to FOX8 this month, for its fourth season.

Foxtel traditionally airs the show over the summer season where it gains a little more traction away from some of Free to Air’s big hitters.

Season Four largely focuses on Juliet and her brother’s vendetta against Serena, along with Blair’s rise to the top at Columbia University.

It began in the US in late September.

High society and low blows are back as the highly anticipated fourth series of Gossip Girl, a one hour drama about the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite, returns to FOX8 on Tuesday November 30 at 8.30pm.

Last season ended with a bang as a heartbroken Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) lay bleeding in the streets of Prague while Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and a newly single Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) jetted off to Paris for a fabulous summer abroad.

Meanwhile, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), fresh off his painful breakup with Serena, decided to take a page out of Chuck’s playboy playbook just as Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) discovered he was going to have to settle down and be a father… to Georgina Sparks’ (Michelle Trachtenberg) baby!

Season four will open with a radiant Serena and Blair enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris… until Chuck mysteriously arrives in town with a new girlfriend and a new identity! Blair swore off Chuck forever but will this changed man woo Blair into having a change of heart, or will Queen B set her sights on ruling Columbia University?

The series also stars Taylor Momsen as Jenny Humphrey, Jessica Szohr as Vanessa Abrams, Kelly Rutherford as Lily van der Woodsen and Matthew Settle as Rufus Humphrey.

Filmed in New York and based on the popular series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, Gossip Girl was developed by Josh Schwartz (Chuck) and Stephanie Savage who worked together on Schwartz’s first smash hit drama The O.C.

Season four premieres Tuesday November 30 at 8.30pm on FOX8.

  1. Why would you put a fantastic series, Gossip Girl, on a midnight?????? Especially on a monday night, you will lose more ratings channel nine and then youdon’t rerun it at all threw the week lie everything else!!!!!! From an upset viewer!!

  2. This weeks episode was brilliant, and im uber excited for next weeks. I hate waiting for Fox8 to start showing it, why not just fast track it, put real GG fans out of their misery. Not that im complaining…i’ll watch it twice, though their 2-4 episodes werent really my favs, for reasons Chair fan would understand :p

  3. Started watching this a couple of weeks ago and gave up by Ep 4. Always been a massive Gossip Girl fan but it’s the same crap served over and over again, this time with yet another mysterious person turning up out of the blue pretending to be a sweet girl only to have an evil agenda. Really need to change it up.
