The annual Ironman Series returns to TEN / ONE from Sunday.
The first race (of five) happens at Currumbin on Sunday, November 21 @ 2.00pm AEDT.
Commentating are Mark Howard, Guy Leech, Trevor Hendy, Nicole Livingstone and Libby Trickett.
All events this series will be shown live on both TEN / ONE except Bondi December 3rd, which airs only on ONE.
The series will also feature a blast from the past with former heroes returning to the beach.
The Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Surf Ironman Series features the country’s best Surf Life Saving athletes competing in the most gruelling ocean based competition on the planet.
The 2010/11 series is fought out over five rounds at iconic Australian beaches including Currumbin (November 21), Bondi (December 3), Coolum (December 19), Portsea (January 2) and Noosa Heads (January 9).
The series will feature the best 20 Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain IronMen and 20 IronWomen in the nation including superstars Shannon Eckstein, Zane Holmes, Ky Hurst and Alicia Marriott racing for more than $300,000 in prize money over traditionally popular formats that will test endurance, power, skill and speed, giving the truest indication of just who is the best overall surf athlete on the planet.
Adding to the action will be a Legends series that will rewind the clock to the halcyon days of the sport and bring former heroes like Guy Leech, Trevor Hendy, Grant Kenny, Darren Mercer, Guy Andrews and Clint Robinson back to competition in a relay format.

Will the broadcast on One be in true HD or just upscaled SD?
@Armchair Analyst. there use 2 series. kellogs and uncle tobys. 9 use to do a great job with the kellogs series than 7 took over and things went pear shaped. it wasn’t 7 that ruined it. the sports lost a lot fans through them not being interested in it any more. nicole was apart of 9s coverage for many years with big darryl eastlake
I rather enjoy this sport. Back in the 90s TEN was excellent at this. Since its shifted from 10 to 9 to 7 it had been ordinary most likely because of the broadcasters treatment of it. So great to see it finally come home to TEN/ONE HD. One thing i don’t understand how on earth is Nicole Livingston and Libby Tricket on the commentary team. I know they are swimmers and that is fair enough but that’s all they are unless i am missing something. Couldn’t have TEN employed a former iron woman competitor that would have made more sense, but it is a good team i must say that. ps love the ONE HD promo for the Kellogg’s Nutri Grain Iron Man series best ever.
it’s good that it’s back on 10. the uncle tobys series was a great series back in the day
I hope One hd shows the rottnest channel swim, it’s a great event where over 2000 people swim from perth to rottnest island.
