ABC announces new SA factuals initiative.

ABC TV and the South Australian Film Corporation have announced a new initiative to produce new factual programs.

ABC TV and the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) have announced a new $2.1 million initiative aimed at developing original ideas for a series of factual programs, to be produced out of South Australia, and to air on ABC1 in prime-time.

Jennifer Collins, ABC TV Head of Factual said “It is a pleasure to be working with SAFC on this initiative, entitled The FACTory. We are looking forward to commissioning up to 20 half hour programs from South Australia – a brand new slate of factual entertainment that the whole family can enjoy”.

The FACTory complements and builds on FilmLab and TV MiniLab, creative development strategies designed to support the growth of the South Australian film and television sector.

The initiative follows the end of other local SA productions for the ABC including Talking Heads.

Visit www.safilm.com.au for further details. Applications close on January 17, 2011.
