East West 101 replay

If you didn't get a chance to see series two of East West 101 it will replay over summer.

Another clever move from SBS programmers sees East West 101 in replay over summer.

If you didn’t get a chance to see series two, when it aired against some tough competition, now you can sample it when there isn’t so much on offer.

This series has picked up a string of awards, including the AFI for Best Television Drama Series, Best Direction in Television (Peter Andrikidis) and Best Lead Actress in a Television Series (Susie Porter).

In series two, the Major Crime Squad investigate crime and murder in all quarters of multicultural Sydney.

But overarching all is the quest for Detective Zane Malik to find the truth behind a car bomb attack which kills two men. The Major Crime Squad form a joint task force with the NSO (National Security Organisation) to deal with the crime.

A suburban printer is killed in a car bomb attack. Is this the work of Muslim extremists? Or is it a criminal act? Malik searches for the truth, amidst a paranoid public who fear Islamic extremists. When a little boy goes missing on his way home from a Muslim school, Malik begins to wonder if this is co-incidental or fallout from the bomb attack.

East West 101 will return to SBS for a third series in early 2011. Susie Porter, Don Hany and Aaron Fa’aoso will all be back, starring in the seven-part series, this time exploring the fallout from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through crimes committed in Australia.

Series Two is replayed from 8:30pm Wednesday December 8th on SBS ONE.
