Fringe told to GO!

Nervous nellies at Nine continue their on-again, off-again antics with schedules over summer. This time it's Fringe's turn.

Nervous nellies at Nine continue their on-again, off-again antics with schedules over summer.

Now Fringe is out tomorrow night, to be replaced by -yep, you guessed it- The Big Bang Theory repeats.

This halts the third season at 5 episodes on GO!

Next week Batman: The Movie is in the 8:30 timeslot.

  1. I think Programming at all Channells is Trash! Fringe .. one of the better sci fys… chopped and changed… no info on when it will reappear…no wonder I gave up on TV and just go and purchase DVD set of what I like…get it…your advertising ratings/victims…are marching with their feet!
Moral of the story is…. start programmes and finish them at end of season…not chop them around…am totally sick of the channels that do this….looks like its ABC, SBS and TV box sets for me…and your advertising can go and jump….maybe I will write to your regular advertisers and tell them why Im not buying their goods any more.

  2. Fringe?
    Channel 9 :-((

What else is there to say? Every week they seem to have some kind of stuff up.
Like the NRL sound . . . so loud is the onfield mic’s that the commentary is muffled, I rang, oh wow I’m the only one to complain.
Well, I don’t watch it anymore. Channel Nine – get stuffed.

  3. To the ones responsible for both taking Fringe off the air and for putting on double episodes forcing us to stay awake late and drive to and from work tired. I hope that your future is filled with the collective pain you bring us all.

  4. Why is anybody surprised by what nine does – i present as prime examples Sopranos, Curb, Star Trek Enterprise etc etc. And if i recall, nine had the rights to seinfeld but couldnt make it work so it ended up on ten where the rest is history. Nines whole prime time broadcast strategy seems to rely on repeats of 2.5 men, bb theory, and top gear. Gee i would love to have the programming job at nine – how easy must that job be.

  5. Well that sucks, Fringe was the only TV show I have been watching since Warehouse 13 and Caprica finished. Foxtel with SciFi channel is looking more appealing….

  6. They seem to think cause we live in australia, we have the IQ of house bricks are will be happy to watch the 15th repeat of BBT. Just like all the morons that watch repeat after repeat of the charlie sheen show.

  7. This was one of the few things worth watching in a week. (I’m down to less than 5 programs and with repeats it’s less!)

Now I have to hunt for evidence of what’s going on. The guides don’t have a notice, last night they had Fringe listed on the Go site, today it’s gone. No apologies, no explanation, just vanished. Faceless cowards control the programming. Wouldn’t we just like to have their names!!

It’s time to junk all of the broadcast media and design our own programming. Free to air is becoming worth exactly what you pay for it.

Now when does that DVD come out!

The world will be a better place when the broadcast media have simply died and gone away!

When the DVD is released before it goes to air then you know that the world is getting fixed.

  8. GEM haven’t taken off Rizzoli and Isles, but have dumped it to the graveyard timeslot of 1 am Monday night – Tuesday morning, so record it if you’re into the show. I saw the first episode and wasn’t that impressed.

  9. OMFG!!!!!!!!!!! How could they?

Screw this, you don’t want us to download sh*t illegally? Then f*cking play our programs without this infamous australia problem of on again off again. Ohh ratings are what, 200 people shorter than last week? Lets axe it woooo!!

  10. Fringe is the one show i look forward to each week, and now without warning Channel9 drops it.
Well two can play that game, 9 isn’t the station it use to be, and i will swap to other channels news etc etc at the expense of 9. I’m tired of being treated like something they stepped in.

  11. GO, what are you doing? Fringe is the most amazing show on any channel including pay! Big bang theory must be one of the worst predictable pieces of rubbish on tv. Bring back Fringe please now!

  12. Channel 9 you own the rights to it – You show it!!!!! Please do not buy the rights to hit US shows unless you screen all episodes. It also holds back Foxtel as, due to our anti-siphoning laws, they can’t show Fringe until Channel 9/GO screens all episodes in the current season.

  13. I think using the US skips as an excuse is pretty average, especially when you’re holding the already screened episodes. Australian fans of these shows don’t get annoyed because there aren’t new episodes due to the US programming styles, we get annoyed when Australian networks hold new episodes back to suit their own needs and ratings agenda.

Especially for shows such as Fringe which like Lost has a very active online community who discuss, debate and theorise about every episode and detail, delaying is only going to make the eventual airing a low rating event.

  14. Shelley, Pretty Little Liars has not been pulled, it will air at 8:30 pm Mondays while Vampire diaries is on a break in the US, and then I assume it will shift back to 9:30, just like it did when it first premiered.

  15. There are now only three real ways to watch TV shows (dramas & sitcoms) from the USA on the FTA channels – don your eyepatch and pirate away, wait for the season to finish in the USA and buy the USA DVD & Blu-Ray release or wait for the local DVD & Blu-Ray release (and if you can wait a couple of months buy it at a discount price at the shop that has four capital letters and a “-” in it’s name).

I’ll give a shutout to Foxtel – if you can wait for a series to be started on a channel that you have you know that the season will be shown from start to beginning with no chopping and changing of days and times.
