NCIS writer Shane Brennan is returning home for the Australian Writers’ Guild National Screenwriters Conference, to take place on Phillip Island from 16-18 February.
Brennan is now Executive Producer of NCIS, and Creator and Executive Producer of NCIS: Los Angeles.
The 3-day conference is aimed at writers in the television, film and gaming industry, and for those who want to break into the industry.
Brennan will conduct a masterclass for AWG members, whilst the event also features David Williamson, US screenwriter, director and producer Nicholas Meyer (credited with revitalizing the Star Trek franchise), Cracker’s Jimmy McGovern, John Collee (Happy Feet) and Jan Sardi (Shine, Mao’s Last Dancer, The Notebook).
Sessions will include What Women Want, With a Little Help from my Friends: Alternative Funding, Writing for an international market: An Australian Voice with a Foreign Accent, Ten Ways to F**k Up a Perfectly Good Comedy and the cheekily titled Cross-Dressing is Fun!: Writing Multi-Platform.
“Following the success of last year’s conference, the 2011 NSC will place Australian screenwriters where they belong, at the heart of the industry”, says AWG President Tim Pye.
David Knox is a former Board member of the Australian Screenwriters' Conference.

@ Harry … I agree
Only wish we could enjoy NCIS repeats over Summer …
are you listening, Channel 10?
Shane Brennan has done great things for NCIS taking them to #1 in the US – the latest season was tonnes better than the one before.
