Seven: 2011 highlights

Winners & Losers, The Amazing Race Australia, Conviction Kitchen, No Ordinary Family, Downton Abbey, Great Migrations are all coming to Seven.

Seven has now announced some of its highlights for 2011.

The list is long, but not quite complete, promising “many more” shows are also coming.

Absent from the list are The X Factor and Iron Chef Australia.

Here is the list as sent by Seven:

Winners and Losers – new drama series from the makers of Packed to The Rafters – four twenty-something girls meet again at their ten year high school reunion. They were “the losers” at school – have they become winners? Virgina Gay, Melanie Vallejo, Melissa Bergland and Zoe Tuckwell-Smith star as the friends; with Denise Scott, Blair McDonough, Michaela Banas and Francis Greenslade also starring.

The Amazing Race Australia – hosted by Grant Bowler, Aussie teams battle it out around the world to win Australia’s first ‘Amazing Race’.

Conviction Kitchen – new documentary series. Chef Ian Curley opens a restaurant in Brisbane, employing ex-criminals to work as wait staff and apprentice chefs, as they try to turn their lives around. Conviction Kitchen is a show about redemption. Curley – a successful chef and restaurant owner – once spent time in juvenile detention himself, and turned his own life around by becoming a chef.

  1. some shows not mentioned: Minute to Win it, The Matty Johns Show, Find My Family, Gangs of Oz, Local Rules, I Know a Bad Driver, Teen Wolf, Royal Pains, Covert Affairs, Hung, Jersey Shore, Keeping up wth the Kardashians, The Event, Outsourced, Off The Map, Perfect Couples, The Cape, The Nate Berkus Show and The Only Way is Essex.

  2. I already watch Cougar Town with the U.S. but Yes!! It’s coming back! If they properly promoted this as the show it now is, they could make a hit out of this show again in a 9:30 slot.

Plus, Ch10 did a smart thing and didn’t purchase L&O:LA because they know it’s failing state side. Why would Channel 7 get NOF? It’s all but cancelled in the U.S. It’s rating slightly better than Heroes….

  3. thats stupid if they dont bring X Factor back i have herd that they will make a decison on whether 7 Will bring it back in a few weeks after the UK X factor final.
Plz Plz 7 bring X back, other wise TV will be boring.

  4. City Homicide is 2nd best Australian show on tv behind Rafters, and the best cop show. Seven would be idiots to axe it altogether. But then again, Seven are idiots. All they need to do is move it to Sunday or Monday night where it belongs and where it use to rate well. Their decision to move to Wednesday is when ratings went bad. Great stories, great script, great cast, great acting, but poor timeslot = poor ratings.

  5. Body of Proof is the show i am looking forward to. I also think amazing race australia is going to take off. Sad no x factor not there. I hope it comes back i really do.

  6. Interesting to see City Homicide on the 2011 list, I am really happy about that but I only hope seven don’t go back on their word if it gets crap ratings because they put it on at the wrong time. Use the show to your advantage seven because I think it is a really good show and the best cop show on TV.

  7. Great Migrations was fantastic on Nat Geo HD…only SD on 7.
All the other returning shows are halfway through series already and very easy to obtain and watch now…

  8. I know that you’re now on your well deserved break, but is there any 2011 news for TEN. ABC, Nine and now Seven have all had a little list of whats coming in the new year. Any news on what TEN is giving us?

  9. the only new show that sounds intresting is conviction kitchen the returning shows that i will watch are
    border security
    the force
    highway patrol
    RSPCA
    i know i am a factuals tragic

  10. Interested in Body of Proof and Detroit 1-8-7. No interest in the Criminal Minds spinoff (boring plus my family, only one of whom has hearing problems, had difficulty understanding most of the cast). Not sure about L&O:LA, I want the mothership back.

  11. No Ordinary Family is good, but pretty ordinary. Don’t think it will do that well here. Can’t wait for the new Criminal Minds show.

I love how Seven uses 30 Rock in their highlights, yet they treat it like it’s not worth showing at all.

  12. I really hope that they don’t bring back The X-Factor, it was a major flop and the proof is in that the winner has already been forgotten.

I am looking forward to watching the Aussie version of The Amazing Race. Some interesting international shows I will give a go as well.

  13. Hi David, do you know if this is specifically the primary channel, or just the 7 network? Some of these shows with less than stellar ratings you’d think would perhaps be running on a secondary, so interesting if they’re all going to be on the primary (maybe they don’t have anything better to run on the primary – the list of new shows is less than inspiring. Still, they managed to win the year with this line-up).

  14. Seven’s imports seem pretty week in 2011

Detroit 187 – all but cancelled in the US
Law & Order: LA – terrible reviews – below average ratings in US
No Ordinary Family – below average ratings in US
Great Migrations -already aired on Nat Geo in HD
