Newly crowned V8 Supercar champion James Courtney will be special guest on the new sports quiz  The Trophy Room this week.

Courtney clinched the V8 title after a dramatic weekend of racing at the Sydney 500 yesterday.

  1. Felicity Ward would have to be the biggest fool making coments about Rick pointing like she did. I she had half the skill or desire she could even half funny which she is not

  2. After Australia Vs and The White Room I would have thought they would have been keen to avoid the Felicity Ward kiss of death. Now if they could just get her on with Dave Thornton at the same time it would surely be axed.

  3. To be fair, no one in the northern states has heard of Shalala either – I don’t think she had an on-camera role prior to getting her gig on News 24. I thought she went alright though. The guests other than Courtney were a bit lame, and most of Helliar’s jokes fell flat. Not incredibly impressed but I’ll probably watch again next week and see how things develop.

  4. So:

A sports journalist (Shalala) that no one in the southern States has ever heard of.

An unfunny comedian that no one has ever heard of (Simmons).

The son of a sports historian (who is apparently an actor – Johnson).

An athlete who *didn’t* go to the Commonwealth Games as the mystery guest.

    1/10. Must try harder.

  5. This will be a flop by Auntie. The promos didn’t look make it look that exciting. It’s a rehash of the Squiz.

Peter Hellier next will get a gig on SBS when this show also fails with him hosting it.

  6. Hi David,

Are you quoting from an ABC presser?

“Australian netball captain, Catherine Cox” – with respect, Cath captained the national team once. She’s a great player, an important part of the team and captain of the NSW Swifts, but not Australian captain.

Sharelle McMahon is Australian Captain, Natalie von Bertouch is Vice Captain.

Kate Beveridge was Captain for the recent FastNet series in Liverpool, UK. (FastNet is kind-of Twenty20 Netball).
