Weather Channel produces Eastern Flooding report

The Weather Channel responds to eastern seaboard flooding with a special report filmed on location in Wagga Wagga.

The Weather Channel has responded to flooding on the eastern seaboard with a special report that recounts the recent floods, filmed on location in Wagga Wagga.

The report is presented by The Weather Channel’s morning co-presenter and meteorologist Magdalena Roze. It includes commentary by afternoon co-presenter Ken Heatley, further meteorological insight by Tom Saunders and perspectives from the Australian farming community.

The channel is also monitoring the situation in Queensland with regular updates.

“The ‘Eastern Flooding’ special is a powerful perspective on the plight of regional and rural Australia following the recent floods. Our dedicated team were on the ground in flood affected Wagga Wagga and central Victoria, keeping our viewers up to date with the latest breaking developments and warnings,” says Julian Delany, General Manager at The Weather Channel.

“There is no doubt that the flooding of recent weeks will go down in history as some of the worst on record. Our special report demonstrates the devastating effect of the floods on Australian farmers and families who were forced to contend with this life changing weather event,” he continues.

As this special goes to air, the flood situation in Queensland worsens. The coastal zone between Cardwell and Gladstone is under serious risk with in excess of 500mm likely to fall across the Christmas period. Serious flooding is once again an issue for areas such as the Herbert and Lower Burdekin, the Central Coast and Whitsunday and Capricornia districts.

The Weather Channel are once again on the ground, with morning co-presenter Josh Holt in Brisbane. Tune into The Weather Channel to see the latest updates and breaking news as this severe weather event progresses.

The special will air on The Weather Channel at ten minutes to every hour (AEST) until New Years Eve.
