2011 GLAAD Media Awards: Nominees

TV nominees include Glee, Modern Family, True Blood, The Ellen DeGeneres Show Project Runway, and Brothers and Sisters.

America’s Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has announced nominees for its 22nd annual GLAAD Media Awards.

These traditionally recognise film, television, music, print, theatre, and online with G&L visiblity in US media.

TV nominees include Glee, Modern Family, True Blood, The Ellen DeGeneres Show Project Runway, and Brothers and Sisters.

Winners will be announced across a series of ceremonies March 19 in New York, April 16 in Los Angeles and on May 14 in San Francisco.

  1. Pretty Little Liars is doing a great job with their gay storyline, especially the new episodes the last few weeks.

    Agree with you snapper and Dodge Aussie tv really lacks diversity and not just in sexuality.

  2. Agree Dodge. The biggest gay exposure last year was on Neighbours where a young guy came out (or was outed) then this semi-recurring character disappeared from the screens! Hardly a big moment in inclusive television which Neighbours could of capitalised on and made a difference with same sex attracted youth and homophobia. In fact the kids I work with noted that there was no closure for the story line. I would hope with the popularity of glee and modern family our tv stations wont be too scared to promote diversity. thank god for ABC and SBS!
