  1. Apparently ONE have the IPTV rights to F1 too so hopefully they will show the Practice Sessions online (if they cant show them on TV). I would be happy if they didnt have any Australia commentary at all too!!! Just stick with the BBC.
I watched it all live last year over the internet but would to be able to watch it all on ONE

  2. @Paul H – that’s excellent news! Legard only detracted from the commentary. The interesting thing is that the team will now consist of two ex-drivers with Martin Brundle moving to lead commentator. I hope he can step up (though it is a fairly small step).

  3. Oops, didn’t see this article until I already commented in the other. 🙂

I agree that the upscaling was excellent last year, but I think once we see full HD the difference will be unmistakable (having seen the difference between 720p and 1080i in the NFL coverage – 1080i is just absolutely stunning).

  4. I can not wait to watch F1 this year in HD. However I would only ask that they broadcast practise sessions in HD too 🙂 Might be asking a bit much

  5. Congrats Ten/One HD on actually delivering your live sporting events in true HD,would never of happened if 7 / 9 had the rights to F1.
9 totally bastardised the coverage when they had the rights, hopefully they will never have them again.
Doubt we will ever see V8 supercars in true HD,let alone to see it live these days.

Must add though that Fox Sports live HD coverage leaves the FTA offerings for dead.

  6. Yes, F1 was not Native HD last year only upscaled. It was an edict from Bernie who didn’t want a bar of HD broadcasting until it became more mainstream.

F1 will not join MotoGP in HD on ONE in 2011. Great news. At least ONE have sport in native HD…much better than Seven or Nine.

  7. Yay, not that it matters for me, I have a HD box on a SD TV. Still I’m glad its both Qualifying & the Race again, makes the weekend much more entertaining.
