First it was Kathy Griffin, now Joan Rivers and daughter Melissa say they are done with hosting Red Carpet events.

And right before awards season too? Sheesh…

“When we were doing it, you could tell Julia Roberts, ‘I hate your dress,'” says Joan.

Now publicists ice you if your insults are too incendiary, she said.

“It took all the fun out of it,” added Melissa.

Joan Rivers also took aim at former Melrose Place-turned Red Carpet host, Lisa Rinna.

“When I found myself literally pulling Nicole Kidman’s arm away from – who’s the one with the big lips? – I thought, What am I doing?” she said.

“Take your stupid lips and take these movie stars.”

Both will now focus on a new reality show, Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best?, about Joan moving in with her daughter.

  1. @Scott yes, i was also ganna mention that i also found respect for both Joan and Melissa on The Apprentice, even after the massive tantrum that Melissa had. such hard working women, hope they do well in the future! 🙂

  2. After I saw them both on The Apprentice I had a newfound respect for them… Both Joan and Melissa are quite down to earth and their diva moments were few. Joan actually won the whole thing and donated a lot of money to charity along the way. Hope their new reality show is successful.

  3. Joan Rivers has had her day in the sun and i mean in the sun. Look at her. She is just i sore looser that is all, she doesnt want to be replaced, she should count herself lucky she lasted this long. I do agree with her that the industry is more politically correct now days i mean you cant even tell the truth that’s how thin skinned those celebrities are not actors or actresses or musicians but celebrities.
