Queensland Today on Nine

All this week Nine will produce a local Queensland edition of the Today show.

All this week Nine will produce a local Queensland edition of the Today show.

Following its extensive coverage of last week’s floods, Nine’s special state edition will break away from the national programme.

It will be hosted by Leila McKinnon, Cameron Williams, and QTQ presenters Heather Foord and Gary Youngberry and airs at 5:30am.

Last week the Today show beat Sunrise, 486,000 to 478,000.

NB: Can we have some Queenslanders provide some feedback on this edition for the rest of us, please?

  1. Is it possible for anyone to get a Mud Army T-Shirt or only those that were on a list ??
My best friend, her husband and myself helped friends clean up after the devastation caused by the floods and would like to purchase shirts for ourselves … Could anyone please let me know if this is possible as it would mean a lot to us all … Thank you …

  2. Re Mud Army Shirts
For anyone after Mud Army shirts I hope you’re not a big frame, only 3 sizes S, M & L, and the Large would be about 100cm. Design is good though.

  3. Please Channel 9, let us know how we can obtain a Mus Army t-shirt (other than at Suncorp) – thousands across Brisbane were/are part of the Mud Army Team. It offers yet another way for us to support our fellow Queenslanders through this crisis.

  4. I think they are silly if they dont let us know where we can buy the Mud Army shirts. Channel 9 has done such a fantastic job keeping Qlders informed during this difficult time. Please dont disappoint us now by not providing this piece of informaiton. There are lots of people wanting to purchase this item for various reasons, but at the end of the day its all going to help flood victims. Where cane we buy them!!!!!

  5. I think by the number of people who commented that they would like to buy a Mud Army TShirt after lending their hand in the clean up, but can’t get to Suncorp today, you could safely say that these would sell like hotcakes if they were available online.

  6. I am also interested in the Mud Army T Shirts, as myself and my partner were a part of the mud army, but are unable due to other commitments to get to Suncorp today, Let us know if they become available on line etc.

  7. Please someone must know how to find the mud army tshirts not that I need reminding of what I saw and what I had to do to help it is just that I really want one. Can anyone assist where I can get one.

  8. we also volunteer in the flood clean up and would like to purchase a mud army t shirt.

  9. I think the t-shirts should available at all retailers, is a great opportunity to raise extra funds and a great badge of respect to all the volunteers. Wear them with pride! I will if I can get one

  10. I would like to buy a Mud Army t-shirt for my son as he worked very hard shifting furniture for people as the water was rising and he went back the next two days and cleaned houses and carted rubbish for people. I want to give one to him as a gift as I am very proud of him and the amazing effort that he put in. He is exactly what he was raised to be – a strong, kind and giving Australian.

  11. I’m in Melbourne and have helped in Victoria floods I would like to know how I can purchase a mud army shirt

  12. I to am after mud army t shirts I am from Melbourne and spen 3 weeks helping with the cleanup

  13. Would like to know where i can purchase the mud army t-shirts from? Apart from suncorp , australia day….as i will be working….I’m sure there would be other gold coast volunteers who would also like to purchase the shirt? Good fund raiser for flood victums…Well done,on the news coverage!

  14. Mud Army TShirts: Today are using the Australia Day event to test demand for the shirts before deciding whether it’s worth using other distribution channels. If you cant get to Suncorp Stadium on Australia Day, comment on my post on the Today Show facebook page to show them just how many people would buy a shirt if they could (eg from a store or online)!! facebook.com/IwakeupwithTODAY?v=wall&filter=3

  15. I too, would like to know where to get a Mud Army T-Shirt as I’m unable to make it to Suncorp Stadium on Australia Day where I’ve heard they will be on sale for $20.
Anywone know where else I can get them from???

  16. The bloke in the channel 9 “fly-over” chopper covering the floods did a brilliant job as did the cameraman. Gave us a fantastic insight into all of the suburbs affected by flooding, where as channel 7 simply stayed on the ground!!! Loved the Today show Brissie coverage all week (I’m a Today show Karl fan anyway). As for 7, Kochie is fab but Mel…….. well she is just too condescending, gushy & square for me. Used to be a Sunrise fan years ago but cant take Mel at all……..

  17. have not changed my channel from channal nine. i am converted. have watched seven up until the qld floods. great coverage. some very heart wrentching. have warmed to the crew so much. not been able to ‘roll my sleeves up’ but have donated and am there as soon as school is back. my heart goes out to all the affected flood people and their families. and the volunteers who have helped make these people feel they are not alone. see you soon. cant wait to wear a mud army t shirt with pride.

  18. The coverage that 9 has provided with Leila & Cam & Heather and Garry for the floods has been very informative Job well Done !!! Well Done to all the volunteers too.
Very proud to be a Queenslander

  19. Have enjoyed the local edition of the Today show. I think it has been a great idea by programmers at Nine. Personally, I think 9 has done a far better job than 7 in covering the Flood Crisis. They were the first ones to continue coverage of the crisis and all the other channels then followed. I only ever watch Today as I find Mel and “Koshie” Very unentertaining. Keep up the good work 9.

  20. Only watch today show!!!! Gave up on sunrise years ago! To fake…. Today have done a great job though all this weather drama.. Thanks today, from a queenslander

  21. Leila ( good MacGregor High girl-go Alpin ) and Cam are doing a fantastic job. The local broadcast this week was a great idea, we need to be kept updated on events daily, still so much to do. Mud army shirts are also a great idea, after spending many hours sweeping mud and slosh, I”ll wear it with pride.

  22. Re Mud Army T-Shirts: I’m trying to find out the distribution details myself. Channel 9 are cooking up something special for an Australia Day broadcast from Suncorp Stadium and the t-shirts will be available there. Confirmation still to come on other sales points/online etc after that event. Regarding ‘sectional’ mud army shirts for non-Brisbane areas .. I reckon if you’ve rolled up your sleeves and helped in any way across the 75% of our flood affected state, you deserve to wear a Mud Army t-shirt, so let’s keep them generic.
