  1. The best supporting actress is this years biggest chance for an upset. The two favorites are both from The Fighter, so if they end up canceling each other out i think HBC might upset.

  2. Looks like no surprises with the film acting awards this year for the Oscars – Natalie Portman, Colin Firth , Christian Bale & Melissa Leo all look unbeatable.

    Glad to see Betty White recognised – but not sure the role actually deserves it – I think this is just recognition for her career resurgance rather than for “Hot in Cleveland”.

  3. I asked the question of some Oscar predictors in the States, who assured me that it is not mandatory to be a member of SAG to be nominated or win one by them.

    1. I wrote some time ago that she was not snubbed by SAGs as she is unlikely to be a member. But Melissa Leo winning again does not bode well for her chances at Oscars, given the trophy chest she is racking up.
