  1. That’s the problem I have with the Skins film Richo – the Sid/Cassie and Cook/John Foster storylines are better left as they were and open to the viewers interpretation. Whether they reunited or not, whatever conclusion they give Sid and Cassie will never match the open-ended conclusion they had in season 2.

As for this season – the girls look very strong and they’ve made no secret it’ll be based around them rather than the boys. Frankie quite reminiscent of early Effy by the looks of it.

  2. Skins has lost its way so badly over the three years that I’ve just given up. I’m no prude, but the idea of these kids binge drinking and using drugs with either no supervision or no consequences is so unrealistic that I literally cannot suspend disbelief long enough to enjoy an episode. I mean, come on, we’re supposed to believe that these kids in working-class Bristol have the sort of cash to support a seven-day-a-week drug habit? You’d either need rich parents or two jobs to earn that sort of cash, yet the kids on this show don’t seem to have either.

Also, I’d be doing myself a dis-service if I didn’t touch on the shallow/inconsistent character development of seasons 2-4. I mean, yeah, I can understand that it’s a by-product of the young/ever-changing writing team, but how hard is it to create a list of character attributes and then stick within those parameters?

All in all, I think history will view Skins as the blueprint for how to wreck a promising show.

  3. I’m looking forward to this!

Everyone looks so young though…guess thats to be expected.

I wonder how fans will react to the new cast…it took me a few episodes to warm up to Generation 2. Although I’m more excited for the Skins film…they’d better wrap up the Sid/Cassie and Cook/John Foster storylines
