Vote 1 Sunrise set

Sunrise has been nominated by a US TV news website for "Best Set of 2010."

The set of Sunrise has been nominated alongside 5 American studio sets by US TV news website Newscast Studios as “Best Set of 2010.”

The set was designed by Jim Fenhagen from Production Design Group in New York City as part of a refresh by former Executive Producer Adam Boland.

Newscast Studios commended, “The clean, airy and minimalistic design is perfect for a morning program. The lighted shelving set into alcoves gives the studio a bit of a “homey” feel and also allows provides an opportunity for subtle decoration, especially in the sports area, where a ball and other equipment are displayed.”

But it also noted the two stand-up podiums or Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta, “make the talent look more like contestants on a game show than news presenters.”

Sunrise is competing with CNN Studio 7, Reelz, CCTV’s Beijing studio, the Orlando-based Golf Channel and KMAX-TV’s Good Day Sacramento.

  1. anybody notice that the screen shot Newscast used to show the Sunrise studio included the news ticker reading ‘Bin Laden Threatens USA in new audio tape’.

I doubt this was a coincidence!

  2. Go Sunrise. I agree the window that shows people standing there watching is a big feature. Its also nice that Mel and Kochie acknowledge them and wave or go out and talk to them, unlike today who just sit inside there 4 walls not knowing whats going on outside.
