Nine will again air the Academy Awards live to Australia later this month.
A daytime broadcast will air live around the country, with a replay later that same night.
At 12pm AEDT on Monday February 28th Karl Stefanovic and Lisa Wilkinson again host the Red Carpet Arrivals (presumably crossing to Richard Wilkins in Los Angeles).
The actual awards begin at 12:30pm AEDT.
A replay will take place at 9:00pm.
They will also screen on Pay TV on StarPics.

I have enjoyed an oscars party every year in front of a long but edited version of the awards with up to 70 girls wearing their finest with a glass of bubbles in hand.
The new live format this last couple of years has killed that! Please bring back a “show” we can watch with all the highlights at a decent time of the evening -someone??

It’s free. I guess they can treat people however they like.
@ Roger….. Before u make pointless comments about free to air tv and how they treat their viewers..I suggest u understand why they are limited on the bit rate of their digital channels. I think u will find its not their fault!

@AndrewB Thankfully Foxtel doesn’t bit starve it’s HD channels like the FTA’s. I’ll definitely be watching it in glorious HD on Starpics. FTA TV can go jump, they treat the viewer with such disdain in so many ways.
The Red Carpet Arrivals pre-show is the worst part of the awards every year.

I dont really care if its in HD or SD…atleast it will be live in australia.
HD is a waste of time if the bitrate is low,
and at the end of the day Mr AB it’s in digital and we can all access it for free on the Nine network!

Star Pics promoting the fact it will be the only place you can see them in HD.
