Bumped: Top Gear. Returning: 20 to 1.

More Big Bang, a shift for Top Gear and the return of Bert -but where's Survivor?

Channel Nine has adjusted its Tuesday night timeslot following the axing of Ben Elton Live From Planet Earth -but there is still no sign of Survivor.

From next week Nine is adding a repeat of The Big Bang Theory to 8pm following a new episode, which moves Top Gear to an 8:30pm start.

The 90 minute episode ends at 10pm to be followed by a first run episode of Adults Only 20 to 1.

Kitchen Nightmares USA will air at 11pm.

The same schedule is repeated on Tuesday March 8th.

The news will be disappointing to fans of Survivor who have been waiting for the new series which began in the US on February 16th.

Nine had aired the last season on Tuesday nights.

It’s enough to make you vote someone out of the tribe….

  1. Adults only 20 to 1? That’s what got the timeslot? Unbelievable.

With the infinite amount of repeats on Go and GEM I simply cannot believe Survivor cannot find a slot. Ridiculous.

  2. Just a note on Kitchen Nightmares by the way; the episode Nine aired last week was listed as Kitchen Nightmares USA, but was actually a previously unaired episode of the British series.

  3. Survivor doesn’t take any breaks, I find it ridiculous that Nine hasn’t bothered to air the new season yet. Instead of having repeats of Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory all the time, they should air Survivor instead.

  4. @ BoxOfficeBowman, “…to be followed by a first run episode of Adults Only 20 to 1.” It’s not a repeat.

So originally they were going to have a repeat of TBBT on Tuesday and the new episodes of Wednesday, will the new episodes be on both nights now, or just Tuesday?

  5. I just saw an ad for Survivor on Nine. Didn’t think to look what day/time it was promoted for (maybe it was just “coming soon”). Still, that’s encouraging.

  6. Nine should experiment like Ten has done before The 7pm Project and just have their big shows start at 7pm. I actually think that Home and Away is winning the 7pm timeslot at the moment by default. Some people are just never going to warm to the talent on The 7pm Project and the people who used to watch Two and a Half Men have either gotten sick of Charlie Sheen’s real life outbursts or have gotten sick of seeing that same episode for the 20th time. I reckon if they started Top Gear at 7:00, they might pull a few viewers from Home and Away. It’s risky, but 7pm is the problem and they need to fix it now.

  7. Nine’s programming is a bit of a mess.

If Survivor doesn’t rate on the primary channel make it a FastTrack on Go. Delaying it, just makes the program worthless as anyone remotely keen will have watched it via download or read about it completely off the web. I can only assume they don’t pay much for the rights to Survivor any longer.

They do pay alot for the Top Gear rights and this is looking like a failed project. Isn’t it funny how some cult shows that work well on ABC or SBS fall over when they try to become mainstream on one of the commercial networks.

As for bringing back Adults Only 20 to One……Kerry must be spoinning in his grave!

  8. This is the exact reason they are well behind seven in the ratings. Seven listened to viewers are rushed TAR to 7mate and nine should have enough brains to do the same

  9. Ugh. Tiresome. Why no Survivor? Not even on Go?

With the proliferation of internet spoilers, is it any wonder that this kind of resource-hoarding programming drives people to illegal downloads? 7 have the right idea putting fast-tracked Amazing Race on 7mate. Nine have two digital channels full of The Nanny repeats, and they can’t find a slot for Survivor? It is blatant contempt for viewers, and a desperate attempt to maintain an outdated distribution system. If they won’t show it, why don’t they at least use FixPlay, iTunes or Foxtel to distribute it as close as possible to the US airing.

  10. Wouldn’t it be smarter to move Top Gear back to 7.30 where it was getting 1.3-1.7, or even 7pm? It’s clearly failing at 8.00 and last time they tried 8.30 it failed too.
