Principal photography on The Inbetweeners feature film begins this week, which sees those irascible schoolboys take a holiday to Malia.
The film sees Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas returning plus Emily Head as Carli, Belinda Stewart-Wilson as Will’s Mum and Greg Davies as Mr Gilbert.
Last month, James Buckley told TV Tonight, “They go on a ‘lad’s holiday,’ as we call it over here. All your mates leave school and you go to a foreign country to get drunk and get the girls. Obviously these are things that the boys know nothing about and can’t handle, so it should be funny.”
Creators/writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris have also said, “We hope the fans will appreciate the film which, we think, completes the story of Will, Simon, Neil and Jay, I very much hope that the film will introduce The Inbetweeners to a whole new audience in the UK and around the world.”
The film is slated for a mid-August cinema release in the UK.
Meanwhile, last month the boys were set the challenge of driving to Britain’s 50 places with rudest names.
After one stop in Wootton Bassett Blake Harrison tweeted, “We had a lovely meal at Sally Pussey’s Inn.”
Typical.
The latest series is currently screening in Australia on GO!

Fantastic! TV shows making the transition to the big screen Never fail!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant! Can’t wait for a movie of this!
I truly love The Inbetweeners and just hope their film does better than other TV series transferred to the big screen.
so great to hear and loving the latest series
Great news that it’s a go-ahead.
its probably a higlight of all the multi-channelling…these sorts of shows are getting go on on the free to airs… awesome stuff
If the film stick’s with all the great things that make the tv show work, then I think the end result will be amazing.
The four actors are great in their roles. I hope this film gives the writers the suitable medium to explore the characters more.
Hopefully it would exceed films like EuroTrip, Road Trip, American Pie and Sex Drive (which are all American…)
Yes! Yes! Yes!
that’s a fast turnaround – let’s hope it’s not ‘carry on inbetween’
Brilliant.
