Season Two of that cursin’ HBO western series Deadwood will air on ABC2 in March.

1877. A new day is dawning in the Black Hills outlaw camp of Deadwood. For better or worse, times are changing, and the transformation from camp to town is imminent.

Unsavoury new arrivals looking to cash in on the lucrative anarchy and a government of outsiders usher in an era of hard decisions and brutal power struggles among the camp’s founders. Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant) is the new Sheriff and forced to stand his ground against two conniving brothel owners: cutthroat Al Swearengen (Ian McShane), and his chiefrival, the cunning Cy Tolliver (Powers Boothe).

The women of Deadwood prove their mettle as Calamity Jane (Robin Weigert), Alma Garret (Molly Parker), and whores Trixie (Paula Malcomson) and Joanie (Kim Dickens) stake their claim in this dangerous town of scheming misfits, all learning the hard way… fortune comes with a price.

In Deadwood: A Lie Agreed Upon, tensions flare as the camp faces an uncertain future. Al Swearengen taunts Seth Bullock over his relationship with Alma Garret, and the resulting confrontation between sheriff and criminal turns violent.

With a new business venture on the horizon, Joanie Stubbs and Cy Tolliver await the arrival of some fancy new whores on the next stagecoach, which also bears two important reminders of Bullock’s past.

It’s back from 9:30pm Monday March 7th on ABC2.

  1. Surely one of the best TV series ever! Gritty and realistic, I couldn’t wait and bought the three seasons. What is wrong in TV land when a show of this calibre is pulled yet shit like the Hills, the Kardashians, Gene Simmons , Neighbours etc continues?

  2. nah I didn’t start gen kill just coz of the conflict, there is bones, which thankfully I remembered will be gone, so maybe I’ll be ok, then there is supernatural and family guy at 8:30, but the main problem is glee and gnw, even though they aren’t on at that time I have to allow for over runs coz no one runs on time so one tuner is tied up with making sure I catch an entire show. so effectively a 2 tuner device is only able to record 1 thing in each timeslot if you are moving around between channels.

  3. Although I’ve seen the entire series a few times now & have it all on dvd, Ill still be watching…

Al Swearengen has got to be one of the best TV characters ever…

    Awesome show.

  4. I am a happy squirrel but I’ll be catching it on iView as I’m doing with “Generation Kill” now.

@Bindi – if one of the shows that you want to record is Gen Kill, it’ll be replaced by Deadwood, so your recording situation should’t be any more complicated than it is now.

  5. Bugger Monday is already full of stuff, this makes it even harder to figure out my recording setup while I go overseas, definitely going to need to use Dad’s pvr as well as my own.
