Renewed: Survivor (but where is it, Nine?)

Survivor has won a renewal for two more seasons, but does Nine even care?

Survivor has won a renewal for two more seasons, taking it through to its 24th season, an impressive feat in anyone’s Reality language.

The show normally has two seasons per year, with the current series Survivor: Redemption averaging 11.7m viewers.

Host and Executive Producer Jeff Probst has also signed a deal to continue his roles. Would we have it any other way?

But the wait for Australian fans is getting beyond the pale.

Seven fasttracked The Amazing Race onto a digital channel to specifically address the issue of internet leaks / downloading, but Nine is dragging its feet on Survivor (TV Tonight is certainly tired of stumbling onto Spoilers while sourcing US stories for good Aussie folk, grrrrrrr!).

Instead we are left with 20 to 1?

Sorry Bert, the tribe has spoken….

  1. As an American temporarily living in AU, I must say I find it confusing to have seen “Survivor, Coming Soon” promos on TV weeks ago, and yet thus far it has not been broadcast.

In the first place, in the USA, before a show premiers, in the promo, the Date is given (None of this “Coming Soon” crap.). That way people can make a note, program their recorders, etc.

Now to read that it is Weeks delayed and people are viewing the missed episodes on the www. The viewers have spoken. You dropped the ball. I will view on the www myself. Not impressed with Channel 9!

  2. Survivor is the one and only thing I watch on 9, well used to – couldn’t wait
now at episode 4 who needs 9.
    This series is awesome.

Oh and by the way, every female I know avoids 9, we are terrified we might stumble upon Crazy Charlie or Sam Newman. 9 is a creepy station.

  3. Not showing this season on par with the US is a massive mistake by Nine. Having just watched ep 4 this season is looking very good. Surely they could’ve removed a couple of TBBT eps from GO! to show it.

  4. @ ? Man, do you not remember Channel 7’s attempt at an Australian Survivor with that awful “Celebrity Survivor” that had Imogen Bailey in it. It was dreadful.

  5. That’s why I love 7 and 10 , they listen to us , the viewers
eg when 7 told us that the TAR was going to be on 7 mate people in the outback wanted a re-play on the main channle on daytime or late at night and 7 listened and did it.

  6. If I onwed 9/win/nbn things would be much i
    diffent
survior would be front and center at 8pm Tuesday ( or Thursday)
top gear would be on Monday same time ( like sbs)
7 pm would be x 2 eps of mixed sitcoms eg
    Monday : the naney
tuesday : the big bang theory
    wednesday : friends
    you get the picture
no more 20 to 1 ( or anything like it)
Not to much big bang theory repets on go ( I am a fan but go shows it to much)
    2.5 men no more

  7. 4 episodes have already aired and i’ve seen them all, so stuff Channel Nine. They are pathetic. Shows like Survivor and Amazing Race can’t be delayed too long after the US because fo the internet and spoilers etc. Seven knows this, but Nine is way behind the times. And their ratings refelct that.
