Returning: South Park

South Park is about to return, with its first new episode set to target Tiger Woods and assorted celebs.

Yes South Park fans, Season 14 is finally upon us.

The animated series returns Monday March 21 at 10.30pm on SBS ONE, which is twelve months and four days (if you’re counting) since it aired in the US.

The first episode will include parodies of Tiger Woods, Bill Clinton, David Letterman, David Duchovny and Charlie Sheen.

SBS notes this as a “new 12 part season” which is 2 eps short of its 14 episodes that aired on Comedy Central. Still, that’s a longer run than fans have enjoyed of late.

Episode 1: Sexual Healing
When, in the wake of the Tiger Woods sex scandal, rich and successful men around the world suddenly want to have sex with tons of women, the top scientists in the country are brought together to put a stop to it. Once scientific testing gets underway, it reveals some of the fourth grade boys of South Park Elementary are sex addicts.

  1. I remember the good ol’ days of SBS One always giving South Park the red carpet treatment – an 8:30/9pm timeslot with episodes only a few weeks behind the US.

Hate to write this, but it seems a Nine-owned channel (Go) gives this show more love than SBS these days.

  2. No one on South Park Studios forums (moderators I mean) will give you an honest answer, they just cart out a standard answer.

Want to hear something ironic? China is well known for its internet censorship, Youtube is blocked for example…but the residents of China can happily watch episodes at South Park Studios and we can’t.

  3. Couldn’t seem to find videos of South Park on SBS’s site-and what could be preventing South Park Studios from having Aussie access to the videos (SBS maybe?).

  4. 200 and 201 haven’t been repeated in America and aren’t available on the South Park website or iTunes so I don’t think this is SBS’s fault. It would seem Trey Parker and a Matt Stone would rather nothing air than the censored version.

Still, poor form for SBS airing this just before the 15th season starts in America.

  5. I haven’t watched this show in a long time but I do wish they would go back to an 8:30pm time slot.Right Now unless You are a Man versus Wild Fan or follow Four Corners with Interest Everything else with one or two exceptions is a crime show.

  6. @Trix: I am trying to write this without a spoiler alert, but do you recall the episode ‘Super Best Friends’? Mohammed was a member, as was Moses, Jesus, Bhuddha etc. Episodes 200 and 201, in part, revisit many characters who have been on the show, and this includes the Super Best Friends. There seems to be a big problem with showing Mohammeds image at CC because of threats…even though his image is censored in the episode(s) itself.

To me its an over reaction by SBS, the same thing happened with ‘Bloody Mary’, and a lot of other episodes. Clearly they are pandering to a minoirty. Once upon a time SBS showed everything…and I miss those days.

You can’t watch it on South Park Studios, Australia is blocked.

In terms of character development it is a very important episode, many things will not make sense later in the series without seeing it.

  7. 200 and 201 were dropped? Blimey, that’s ridiculous.

If dropping 200 and 201 was because of the whole Muhammed ordeal, then what’s the problem? Comedy Central “fixed up” 201 in retaliation to the threats they received, so it was fit to go to air. Can’t believe SBS would stop them going to air, they were very important episodes for the show in general. Torrenting ftw!

  8. I won’t waste my time, I love this show but have already watched the entire season. I think it is pathetic that 200 and 201 have been clearly dropped, it’s an excellent episode.
