Teen Wolf: promo

Here are promos for Teen Wolf, the TV adaptation of the feature film that starred Michael J. Fox in the 1980s.

MTV in the US has released 3 promos for Teen Wolf, its TV adaptation of the feature film that starred Michael J. Fox in 1985.

Tyler Posey stars as Scott McCall, a high school lacrosse player whose life is changed when he’s bitten by a wolf in the woods.

The series was written by Jeff Davis, creator of Criminal Minds, and the pilot was directed by Australian Russell Mulcahy.

Also appearing in the promos are Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed and Colton Haynes. Hoechlin will play the werewolf responsible for changing Scott, Reed will play his love interest and Haynes will play a star lacrosse player (aka resident jerk).

Seven has the rights to the series for Australia.

  1. It is airing on MTV in the US but is not on MTV’s list for distribution. So if MTVoz wanted it they would have to be the highest bidder against the great unwashed.

  2. I read as far as ‘Teen’ in the title before losing all hope.

However it was a direct squeal to Teen Wolf 2 with Jason Bateman and by the Arrested Development people – that would be something to watch.

  3. If 7 has the rights to it in Australia then we can be sure of two things:

First: We won’t get it for at least 6 months after it debuts in The US. And
Secondly: It’ll be on at a ridiculous hour like 11:30PM -12:30AM Sunday or something

I’m really looking forward to seeing this but no way am I waiting for 7 to screw us around.

  4. Surely MTV Australia will also have the rights to this as well. They will probably show it first given the way FTA channels treat new shows… this show is probably better suited to GO! than any other FTA channel

  5. I really loved the original Teen Wolf movies, and I’m a pretty positive person about new things in general. Of course, there’s a but…

I don’t know about this. Looks like they’ve just decided to latch on to the Being Human/Vampire Diaries type of thing and churned out a generic teen series with a werewolf and using the title of an 80s movie. I feel bad about being so negative, but this just seems verrrry unoriginal, uninspired and uninspiring.
