Steven Spielberg’s dino-drama Terra Nova will no longer have its US preview in May, having been pushed back to the US Fall by FOX.
Originally the series was to have a two-hour pre-season launch in late May, a strategy that helped launch Glee on the back of the American Idol final.
But the mega-budget, Queensland-filmed show will now be delayed to allow more time for its special effects.
“Terra Nova is one of the most ambitious television series ever produced,” FOX entertainment president Kevin Reilly said in a statement.
“The cutting-edge visual effects used to create the world of Terra Nova, which is of massive scope and scale, require more time to be realised. This aspect of the series is essential, so we are pushing back the special early preview date to give the visual effects team the time needed for their groundbreaking work.”
The series stars Jason O’Mara as the head of a family in the 22nd century who is transported back to prehistoric times as part of an experiment to save Earth.
It is due to air on TEN.

I guessing cause it’s crap.
It will probably start after the new X-factor with Simon Cowell. At least the FX should look very good.
What’s the bet this will be delayed til midseason 2012, and then put on hold indefinitely? Lol
I was looking forward to this in May and not be buried in the September rush of new shows. I guess this means they will go strait into the series after the pilot?
