The US version of SBS comedy Wilfred begins on FX in June.
Adapted by David Zuckerman (Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill), it features Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Happy Feet) as “Ryan” and Fiona Gubelmann as “Jenna,” Ryan’s neighbor and Wilfred‘s owner. It is a shift from having a live-in boyfriend as in the original series.
Jason Gann repeats his role as the anarchic title-role mutt, complete with Aussie accent. He also serves as Co-Executive Producer.

‘FX original series’…?
just sayin’…
woah elijah wood is a massive get , go aussie.
Eeeeeewwwww……Weird!
The logo font reminds me of “where the wild things are”
Yeah looks like this could work, be very hard to mess it up anyway, but with Jason Gann in it, seems it would be even harder to mess up. Put Jason Gann on Craig Ferguson to be interviewed and it could be just the right publicity the show needs to get a fair audience over there.
At least the trailer actually explains the premise. For ages, I didn’t understand what was going on in that show! Thinking the Americans might have a problem understanding the dog’s accent though.
Great. Hope this works.
Australia used to have a channel FX . I used to love it .
Which channel is screening it here though ?
Looks funny – and funnier than the original!
This might be one Aussie remake that gets a good following – I’m definitely going to watch it. I missed the SBS version, but this looks quite good.
