“What a big week it’s been in football!”

Former Footy Show originals Eddie McGuire and Trevor Marmalade will join Garry Lyon, James Brayshaw and Sam Newman for the show’s 500th episode tonight.

The show has had more than it’s fair share of headlines in the 18 years it has been on air (most of them Newman-related) yet it is a survivor, still delivering ratings, breaking stories and entertaining a bastion of die-hard fans.

Faithfully, it keeps the Live TV flame alive within Nine.

Tonight on the show its star guest is Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett, who vowed he would never appear on the show to be humiliated by Newman. I guess even Jeff has mellowed…

Australia’s longest running prime-time entertainment show, The Footy Show, celebrates its 500th episode this Thursday night at 9.30pm on Channel Nine.

Joining Garry Lyon, James Brayshaw and Sam Newman for the party are Footy Show pioneers Eddie McGuire and the man behind the bar Trevor Marmalade. The original Footy Show cast members return to the show that made them household names to re-live some of their favourite memories since the show first aired in 1994.

Outspoken Hawthorn President Jeff Kennett is our special guest. The always controversial Hawks leader faces off with Sam Newman in a one-on-one, no-holds-barred LIVE showdown.

Saints superstar Nick Dal Santo and Gold Coast Suns hard nut Campbell Brown join Shane Crawford on the panel to preview all the Round Three footy action.

We count down the Top Five greatest ever Footy Show moments – from Crawf’s amazing charity run to Sam being dacked live on television. All the moments are there but what will be number one?

Award winning journalists Craig Hutchison and Damian Barrett deliver all the very latest news and we take a trip down memory lane with some of the unforgettable Street Talk and Almost Footy Legends moments from the show’s 18 year history.

All that and plenty more on The Footy Show’s 500th episode – 9:30pm Thursday on Nine.

  1. Will be great to see Trevor there tonight. He was obviously disappointed when he saw told he was ‘no longer required’ on the show because they were going in a different direction a few years ago.
I remember reading him saying that he hadn’t watched the show at all since that happened.

Also really looking forward to Jeff Kennett. He always has strong views.
