  1. Don’t bother watching on GO! Gods of the Arena is probably more bloody and sexual (and fantastic!) than Blood and Sand was. It’s also R-rated, so it’ll be the international cut version again. Wait for the Blu-ray instead to fully enjoy this show.

  2. Prequel, not sequel. The “sequel” aka season 2 isn’t due to be screened until early 2012.

I’ll watch at least the first couple of episodes, although I must admit it was difficult to watch the edited version of Blood and Sand after watching the episodes in their full glory. At least once it has screened on Go, the Blu-Ray should be released down under soon after. I’m looking forward to re-watching Gods of the Arena in its full glory again on Blu-Ray.

  3. Lobby your government as to why you can’t watch R material on free to air, the ABC or general pay tv for that matter. There’s a senate enquiry currently taking place initiated by the ‘Christian Right’ which which aims to restrict what you can view even further if it gets up (and parts of the submission likely will). These things occurr because the only people that are pro-active in lobbying for change are conservative family groups.

  4. Yeah I know that,

I just hate we (and most of the world) get the edited version and you have to either DL them (illegally) or wait for the DVDs and pay to see the full version. I hate that, it feels like I’m missing out on something.

  5. I hate that we got the censored version of Spartacus, why? Yet another reason people go else where for this type of show, plus the fact it aired months ago. I’d just get the uncensored DVDs if I had no other choice.

  6. It’s been a while coming but I haven’t seen it yet so I’ll prob watch unless it’s had all the good bits cut out again. Perhaps ABC2 could secure the uncensored original? It’s be perfect for their Deadwood slot when it finishes.
