  1. What’s with Airline and Search and Rescue? Isn’t this supposed to be a male channel, not a ‘aimed at 60-year-old women who watch 7 and 9’ channel? Pretty weak stuff, they’d be better getting American Chopper repeats or something from Discovery for that weeknights timeslot, at least they’d be in HD and it’s something guys would actually watch.

I at least hope those old Bondi Rescue episodes are in HD, though I doubt they are, or if they are even filmed in HD in the first place.

And looking at how ‘manly’ some of those shows are, I’d really like to see them showing stuff like House, Good Wife, SVU, etc on the channel so we can finally get shows like them back in HD.

  2. A sad day for FTA Television. It’s a shame genre-specific channels are doomed (except ABC News). In a ideal world there should be at least 1 FTA each of sport, movies, music, docos, lifestyle, kids & news.

  3. They’ll Lose viewers on Tuesdays with that lineup rather than gain viewers……We believe the US sports will remain during the daytime hours though (they’ve got the entire Eastern Conference Finals in the NBA this year).

  4. WHile I’m all for a 24/7 HD FTA sports channel I think this is a good move by TEN so they can go head-to-head with 7MATE, maybe it will push Seven to put the v8s in HD on their HD channel to have a head line act, as it were. Like ONE has the F1 and with Mark back on form it’s sure to draw in more viewers.

Sons of Anarchy is very good but Showcase will have finished Season 3 by the time it makes it’s FTA premier. I’ll be watching An Idiot Abroad, looks like a laugh.

  5. *Groan.* Well, it looks like an ok line up, I only have 1 real complaint.

I would like to see AFL Game Plan/One Week at a Time played in a decent time slot in the NRL markets. I’m not asking that it suplant the NRL versions but there are plenty of AFL fans who’s Monday’s and Thursday’s would be made better by that slight change.

That’s all I’m saying, I’ll see how it works and decide my final opinion.

  6. E gads. If you want a blokey station (during the week) play some blokey stuff. National Geographic documentaries aren’t going to cut it. Take a chance on some original programming like variety or comedy or drama. Maybe even buy some old Australian comedy programming from SBS & ABC – it has to be better than men cutting down trees and driving trucks in the winter.

  7. Will def be watching Son’s of Anarchy and An Idiot Abroad. Will give Terriers and Lights Out a look.

David, I presume that the F1 time (9:00pm Sun 8 May) is for the east coast and that the pre-race show will still be live here in Perth at 7:00pm?

  8. Wow, what a let down! Nothing but nothing worth watching, so it’s no different to before they changed the format… Though I might give that TBA show a gander, they seem to have it on every day. It must be One’s version of Two and a Half Men or something 😉

  9. Double episodes of Bondi Rescue? There are barely enough episodes for a regular weeknight slot. They will be through the whole series within 6 weeks at that rate…then what? Bondi Vet instead?

At least we should finally get to see the second half of the ill-fated Bail series of Bondi Rescue.

  10. That’s a pretty sad state of prime time programming. Hope it does well for them, but other than The Game Plan (NRL) and One Week at a TIme (NRL) there is much for me in that line up.

Bondi Resuce, Emergency Search and Rescue, Airline, Cops. How many fly on the wall shows (= cheap to make/buy) will One screen?
