Ooops. Arena plays wrong Top Chef episode

Arena has apologised to fans of Top Chef after accidentally playing the wrong episode this week.

In Reality TV you really never want to mix up your episodes, for fear of skipping crucial eliminations of contestants.

But that’s just what happened when Arena aired an episode of Top Chef: Just Desserts on Monday night.

Fans were confused when the wrong episode aired.

Arena has apologised for the mix-up and issued the following statement:

Unfortunately, an error was made during the compiling stage of prepping the tape, which resulted in the wrong episode going to air. While the Foxtel Broadcast Centre does have a rigorous quality-checking system in place, the particular circumstances of this isolated incident meant that the error was not picked up during the pre-broadcast procedure.

Arena TV is very sorry for any confusion, disappointment or inconvenience caused by this mistake and wishes to assure our viewers that we are currently investigating how the incident occurred and instigating further procedures to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

The correct episode will now premiere at 7.30pm on Saturday, 30th April. It will also be repeated at 10.30pm Sunday, 1st May and 9.30pm Monday, 2nd May.

Once again, please accept our sincerest apologies for this serious error. We hope that, although, you may now know the finalists, you can still enjoy all the sugary highs and lows of Top Chef’s sweetest offering yet.

Nice to see a channel being above board about the mix-up and taking it seriously, anyway.

  1. Lifestyle YOU did something similar with the last season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, playing the wrong ‘Untucked’ episode so as to reveal the winner a week early.

  2. For the first time ever i’m thankful my IQ box is packed to the brim, thus i hadn’t yet had a chance to watch the episode.

Thanks for letting us know, David, saved the whole series being spoiled, thankfully.

  3. Their honesty might be appreciated but the fact that they just spoilt the next four episodes is not. The anticipation of who will be eliminated is half the fun and now we know who the final three are it’s killed a great show.
