Report: Mel B set for X Factor

Former Spice Girl is tipped to join Guy Sebastian, Ronan Keating and Natalie Bassingthwaighte on The X Factor.

Mel B is said to be the newest judge on Seven’s X Factor.

The former Spice Girl, who appeared as a guest on the reality show last year, will replace Kyle Sandilands, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

She would join Guy Sebastian, Ronan Keating and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

Some readers had expressed enthusiasm at the idea of Mel B becoming a regular on the show and she certainly embraced the format last year.

But she is also due to give birth in June or July, just weeks before The X Factor begins.

Seven could announce the new judging line-up this week.

  1. Natalie Bassingthwaighte is awful, the only reason why people didn’t watch SYTYCD AUS was because she was an Awful host.

It’s sad because if Mel B really is a host then the show would be much rejuvenated but then you have Nat Bass who’s career has been nothing but flop ruins this line of judges.

    SMH at whoever hired her.

    1. Dance wasn’t a flop, but it struggled in its third year. Bassingthwaighte’s role on Neighbours and her part in the Karl-Susan-Issy triangle was some of its best stuff in the last decade. Also has theatre successes to her name and hits with Rogue Traders. Not fair to say her career has been nothing short of flops.

  2. Nat imbruglia went to LA to do acting.
The Show will still fail because australia i sick of the format, it needs to be rested for 5 years and coming off Oz got talent people will be yawning.
They lowered to 14 years because we only have 20 million people in this country so as the years go on, watch the talent disappear. Unless they rest it for minimum 5 years. Fools.

  3. @ Guy: agree with every word mate. Especially about Nat Imbruglia…. I liked her, and she’s hot as hell! 🙁 (Mind you, Nat Bass is almost as hot, haha)
I’m thinking the producers thought: we can get roughly the same package for half the price and effort (Nat Bass wouldn’t have any diva demands, plus she lives here).

  4. This is awesome news. Seriously she was the best thing that happened to the series last year and well this is icing on the cake. I feel sorry for Nat though. I can’t believe they replaced Nat with Nat. That just doesn’t seem fair. Why did she have to leave? Was it because of the viewer poll that was done after the previous series? I think 2011 is going to be huge and Seven you have to schedule it Monday/Tuesday or Tuesday/Wednesday this time around. It really hurt on Sunday last year. If you want it to be a mega hit then this is what you have to do.

  5. That would b kind of amazing I must say.Instils a bit more confidence in me for this years show. I still don’t like the new min age limit of 14 :-/

  6. If this is true I will not miss a second of the next season. she is fab. It will be interesting to see how they work around the pregnancy. You can already apply for audition tix in Melb no exact date is given just “may” which seems early but we should have an announcement soon I guess.
