Sunday Night: May 1

Fallen AFL identities Brendan Fevola and Ricky Nixon are both interviewed on Sunday Night.

In the final episode of Sunday Night before it takes a break there are two AFL interviews.

Guest reporter Peter Fitzsimons will interview fallen star Brendan Fevola while Ross Coulthart speaks to disgraced sports agent Ricky Nixon.

It will also run for 90 minutes with The Force out. Border Security replays at 8pm.

In an exclusive interview on Sunday Night former AFL superstar Brendan Fevola reveals the shocking truth behind his sudden demise from football superstar.

The showdown with guest reporter Peter Fitzsimons sees the footy legend detail his own downfall, from the Lara Bingle photo scandal to his drink and gambling addictions.

His estranged wife Alex and mum Karen also give their own brutal assessments of Fevola, who spent 70 days in rehab earlier this year after attempting self-harm.

Also on this special edition of Sunday Night, shamed former player agent Ricky Nixon finally breaks his silence about his relationship with the 17- year-old schoolgirl at the centre of the AFL sex and drug scandal.

Speaking exclusively to Sunday Night, Nixon twice stops the interview with reporter Ross Coulthart, and threatens to pull out.

The 47-year-old father of two eventually returns to go on the record about the biggest mistake, and biggest regret, of his life.

He also details how, at the height of the drama engulfing him, he fled Australia and contemplated ending it all by jumping from London Bridge.

It’s a raw no holds barred confessional in which Nixon makes admissions which will rock the game.

What he says will make you question everything you thought you knew about this explosive story.

See Fevola and Nixon this Sunday at 6.30 pm on Seven.

  1. Peter Fitzsimmons intervew of Brendon Fevola was embrassing as best reported and Karl Stephanovic’s winning of the TV logies is the icing on the cake – oh for internal publicity both ways and pleae spare me the radio. PF is so so arrogrant he needs a serious rain check and KS is so painful he should take up bingo in his local RSL and enjoy his audience appeal.

  2. I was sorry to see how gambling has destroyed the life of Brendan Fevola, but more saddened to realise that Alex did not know there were things she could have done as his wife to mitigate these problems.

Spouses, partners and friends who have been affected by a problem gambling and would like to learn some skills to help deal with this problem are invited to attend a gambling support group held every Thursday evening from 7.30pm at Shepards Bay Community Centre, 3A Bay Drive, Meadowbank in Sydney. All welcome.
