Sunrise will air the Currumbin Dawn Service live at 5am on ANZAC Day, Monday April 25.
The Seven show has long devoted airtime to this, usually commercial free.
In 2007 things nearly went awry when there was talk of a live broadcast from Long Tan in Vietnam.
Then-Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd was discussing participating in a “fake” 4.15am service with David Koch to coincide with Sunrise’s peak audience, but it didn’t go ahead.
