TEN in race for lawyers for Warburton case

TEN has had to scramble to find legal representation in a courtcase with Seven after its lawyer suddenly quit.

Network TEN has had to scramble to find legal representation in a courtcase with the Seven Network after its lawyer suddenly quit.

The case over James Warburton is due to start on Monday in the NSW Supreme Court, but lawyer Joydeep Hor, suddenly resigned due to an unrelated dispute with his former employer Harmers Workplace Lawyers, the firm behind David Jones sexual harassment victim Kristy Fraser-Kirk’s multi-million-dollar claim.

When Hor set up law firm People+Culture Strategies, he took some Harmers clients with him, but Warburton was not on his list, meaning he should not be representing him.

Yesterday Hor quit representing TEN to avoid “distractions”.

Meanwhile Warburton submitted a 75-page affidavit, believed to be critical of Seven Media Group chief executive David Leckie and his work practices.

TEN are hoping Warburton can take up the new CEO position in July.

  1. This latest dovelopment does not look good at all of Network Ten. Ten are already behind the eightball. Firstly they most likely will not have enought money to fight this all the way, 7 have way more capital. Secondly they now need to Find a new Law firm to take up their case. This tiff has already cost them James Packer. What Next?
