Brothers & Sisters? Lie to Me? CSI: NY? Chuck? What are the US shows that may be facing the axe?

As the US market begins to finalise its Upfronts for the forthcoming Fall season, a number of US shows will be destined for the bin.

  1. PS, I thought Mad Love was a Nine show. could have sworn I saw an article here saying it was coming to Nine. and Rules of Engagement shouldn’t be axed, its got better over the years.

you should have also had a HBO/Showtime/FX listing. Bored to Death should be axed!

  2. the only ones that deserve it that I’ve watched are –

$#*! My Dad Says – because its $#*!
Better With You – no wonder 9 aired 2 eps
Lie to Me – it started off well, but became a joke
The Event – i’ve taped it but heard its boring
Parenthood – same old thing every week

haven’t seen brothers and sisters but its been going for a while, long running shows deserve to be axed and not new ones. one less CSI on our screens the better, I guess it’ll have to be NY then. others that should be added to the list are Cougar Town, 2.5 Men, The Middle and a few others.

  3. Is the Event still going?…who knew. Surprised Parenthood is on the list, one of my fave US shows at the moment. B&S has run out of steam, if they had any real problems it may make the show a bit more compelling. Also really liked Better with You, I wish we could finally see it again.

  4. Please keep Brothers & Sisters. I would miss the Walker family dramas and miss the characters.

Also Parenthood is another fantastic show. It deserves another season. Its always the good family shows that get the axe.

  5. I really hope Brothers & Sisters have at least one more season, so they can get back to form and fix all the shit that is season 5!!! Would be nice to have a close to perfect farewell to the Walkers.

@Mate I think One Tree Hill was last played on Ten last year on Saturdays.

  6. Traffic light (ten) has been a total bomb. And The Chicago Code (foxtel) is in the lie to me/fringe range should also be on the list, dont think any network has claimed Chaos but that is a flop too.

  7. I only care about one show on that list (well maybe Lie To Me as well) and that’s CSI NY & from what I’ve read it’s finished though you never know.

  8. Please god don’t let Brothers & Sisters, Lie To Me, and Chuck get axed! I love these shows! Some of the others mentioned have had a good run and can’t go much further, but Lie To Me and Chuck are only up to season 3 while CSI NY is close to second digits.

  9. As usual, half the shows on that list to be canned are among my favourites –

    Outsourced
    The Event
    Law & Order: Los Angeles
    Rules of Engagement
    The Defenders
    Better With You
    V
    $#*! My Dad Says
    Mr. Sunshine
    Nikita

    Screw you Axers !!!

  10. I hope they keep Parenthood!
Have yet to see No Ordinary Family (thanks, Seven!) but seems that’ll surely be cancelled.
I hope Rules of Engagement stays, and would like Eleven to start playing it rather than having to wait every summer to watch a handful of episodes on Ten before disappearing again!

  11. I’ve watched every episode of Brothers + Sisters but I would’nt at all be surprised if it is one of the shows that gets the axe. This season has been quite lame to say the least, and it is getting dumber and dumber by the week…….

  12. Tvguide has a strange way of calculating things. What’s parenthood doing there? last week it was NBCs highest rating drama, it’s doing great business, it’s been up to 2.6.

Nikita and body of proof are also doing fine, but the good wife should be there, it’s being smashed In it’s timeslot (by parenthood!!)

  13. Most of the experts think Parenthood will be renewed, its the 2nd best performing drama on NBC in the all important 18-49 demo, often equaling TGW with is in at the same time.

Out of the list I’m most worried about Chuck which hasn’t performance well but has a vocal fan base, Subway any one?

And it would be nice to see Mr Sunshine back again.

Also while I still like The Event I don’t think it will be back, ditto for V.

Its a shame there are so many shows on the list that haven’t even aired here yet and probably never will now.
