WTFN signs output deal with Discovery Channels

The production company behind Bondi Vet has landed a significant deal with Discovery Channels in the US.

Melbourne-based television production company WTFN has landed a significant output deal with Discovery Channels in the US.

Discovery signed deals with WTFN (including Bondi Vet, Keeping Up With The Joneses) and UK-based companies Shine and All3 Media.

The two-year deal gives Discovery access to WTFN’s slate and commits the two companies to collaborate on a series of pilots.

Discovery’s Executive Vice President of Global Production, Lee Bartlett, said, “Our partnership with these leading global production companies allows Discovery Communications to continue our leadership in the industry by offering our viewers the best creative programming available.”

WTFN produces predominantly factual and lifestyle programmes including Mercurio’s Menu, Coxy’s Big Break, Talk to the Animals and Trishna & Krishna. Its new 6 part history series Tony Robinson Explores Australia airs on the History Channel in May.

WTFN’s Managing Director, Daryl Talbot, said, “Since we started WTFN in 2003 our major focus has been on creating new lifestyle and factual programs with broad audience appeal. The agreement with Discovery is a game changer for WTFN. It will turbo-charge our development efforts and help WTFN grow its global reputation as a producer of high quality content.”
