2011 Upfronts: ABC
ABC (US) gets retro with some of the shows in its new Fall line-up.

ABC (US) has now presented its Fall line-up to advertisers.
Among the most anticipated of the ABC’s new shows is Pan Am, which will follow Desperate Housewives on Sundays. Set in the 1960s, it follows a cast of pilots and stewardess in what is portrayed as the golden, glamorous age of trave land features Margot Robbie.
ABC will also go retro with Charlie’s Angels with Rachael Taylor. It will kick off Thursday nights, ahead of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.

Other new dramas include Good Christian Belles, a soap set in Dallas; Missing, a thriller starring Ashley Judd; Once Upon A Time, a re-imagining of fairly tales; Revenge, featuring film actress Madeleine Stowe; Scandal, which follows the workplace drama and romance of a public relations firm; and The River, an account of the search for a man gone missing in the Amazon.

As a lead-in to Modern Family on Wednesday nights, ABC will roll out Suburgatory, a single-camera comedy that follows a father and daughter who move from New York City to the suburbs.
Other new comedies on the schedule include Apartment 23, about a young woman who has just moved to Manhattan and lands herself in an odd-couple living situation; Last Man Standing, starring sitcom veteran Tim Allen; the male-focused comedy Man Up; and Work It, about two men who dress as women to get jobs — reminiscent of the Tom Hanks 1980s sitcom Bosom Buddies. There’s no “Cougar Town” in the schedule. The Futon Critic says it got renewed for the 2011-12 season. They’re not going to reduce it to 13 eps and make it a mid-season show are they?
THanx for that salf. I just dont want that show to be treated like crap thats all. In this day and age promising show seem to for the most part always get treated like crap. But yeah what you said makes sense The 7 Network has a deal with Disney and ABC is owned by Disney. The only thing i dont understand is why are 7 still airing the Disney version of Power Rangers considering they sold the show back to Saban Brands.
Armchair Analyst: Once upon a Time is going to 7 because of their output deal with disney. Charlies Angels is for 9.
Pan Am looks the best, TBH, i thought Once Upon a Time was a movie trailer, until I saw the end of the promo 😛 Charlies Angeles…meh.

Has any Australian network picked up happy endings yet?
Charlie’s Angels looks like another cookie-cutter, by-the-numbers show. It will consist of little more than action series cliches with the occasionally clunky one-liner and an originality factor of approximately zero.
Once Upon a Time, which I thought might also be a ham-fisted rehash of old ideas, looks like it might be quite good. Hopefully Channel Shuffle don’t buy it.
Once a Upon a Time looks awesome, simply awesome. I like the cast very good the female actresses are sexy and the set and the production looks very good definetly looks like a winner to me. I hope that this comes to Free To Air in Australia i want Network Ten to pick it, if Nine pick it they will reck it as far as 7 go its touch and go with them sometimes they treat a show well and sometimes well they dont. As for Charlies Angels before i looked at Once Upon a Time i thought i might give it a look but now Charlies Angels is out and O.U.T is in.
Pan Am sounds like it’s jumping on the Mad Men popularity. The prospects of alot of new comedies does sound promising.
Charlie’s Angels 2.0 won’t work.
Even NBC passed on the Charlie’s Angels re-vamp… that’s never a good sign. Curious about Pan Am and Once Upon a Time, but otherwise pretty much a yawn.

They say that everything that is ols is new again but that doesnt mean that it is necessarily good,Charlies Angels version 2 I mean really is it that hard to come up with a half decent original idea?
