Airdate: Lyndey & Blair’s Taste of Greece

SBS has brought forward this new series to pay tribute to the memory of actor and presenter Blair Milan.

Later this month SBS will screen the food / travel series Lyndey & Blair’s Taste of Greece which will air in tribute to actor and presenter Blair Milan.

Milan, who was the son of former SBS managing director Nigel Milan, passed away suddenly last month from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He started his presenter career at the age of 14 as a lead presenter for Nickelodeon’s Coast to Coast, and was the face of GO! when it launched in 2009.

SBS has brought the series forward to pay tribute to his memory. He appears in this series alongside his mother Lydney Milan.

Mother and son duo, Lyndey and Blair Milan embark on an epic journey of Greece’s Peloponnese, seeking tantalizing food, antiquities and a big slice of adventure.

This series follows one of Australia’s most recognised food and wine personalities, Lyndey Milan and her actor/voice-over artist son, Blair as they tour Greece’s fascinating Peloponnese with a crew seeking culinary delights, exploring ancient sites, and immersing themselves in Peloponnesian culture.

Over seven half hour episodes Lyndey and Blair cook, eat, drink and engage with the locals they meet along the way – a charming yet eclectic mix of home cooks, winemakers, producers, chefs and restaurateurs. While the cuisine of the Peloponnese has a starring role, the historic heart of Greece is not overlooked as ancient sites are explored with an adventurous edge, full of humour and insight.

In each episode Lyndey cooks with a local in a restaurant or private home or creates her own version of a Greek recipe while Blair takes on the more strenuous challenges thrown up by the landscape and traditions, such as bungy jumping in the Corinthian canal and wake boarding in the Aegean Sea.

Episode One-Athens
The Peloponnese trip begins in Athens, but before they leave Lyndey and Blair visit a meat market, try tripe soup and enjoy the Acropolis. Later that night Lyndey cooks modern Greek at Kuzina Restaurant and Blair enjoys a night out on the town. The next day Lyndey, Blair and the crew depart Athens. Their first stop is the Corinth Canal, where Blair terrifies his mother with a bungy jump.

It begins Thursday 26 May, 8pm on SBS ONE.

  1. What a fantastic show. The Greek Islands, their culinary traditions and the warm friendly people make for excellent viewing. Blair comes across as a delightful young man, how proud his parents must be of him, and what a devastating loss to have him wrenched away from them. I hope they take comfort in knowing how he made people smile with his wry humour.

My heart truly aches for Blair’s parents. I hope that the memories of your “palikari yio” as we say in Greek , bring you comfort .
