The 8 part series, set in 2040 on a recently-discovered planet, tells of the dilemmas, loves and lives of a group of people setting up a new world. Just one season was produced before it was axed.

The series will replace Spooks and follow Doctor Who in a Saturday night timeslot.

Gripping epic drama about a group of courageous pioneers building a new and better future on a distant planet.

Amid growing fears for the future of Earth, a fleet of anti matter transporters departs for a newly discovered life supporting planet they name Carpathia, in a distant galaxy.

Led by president Tate (Liam Cunningham) and his core team of Stella (Hermione Norris), Cass (Daniel Mays) and Fleur, they take charge in the settlement of Forthaven and prepare to leave their old lives behind, far away from their home, friends and family.

They await the arrival of what could be the last transporter from Earth, whose entry to Carpathia is highly dangerous due to atmospheric pressure and combustion risk.

Loyalties are tested as the head of Forthaven’s Expeditionaries attempts to break away from the settlement, and the beginnings of a mystery which goes right to the heart of human life on Carpathia are uncovered.

It airs 8:30pm Saturday May 28th.

  1. Yes Outcasts was cancelled by the BBC, however there is a fan-site dedicated to the show as well as a Facebook group aimed at getting the show renewed. Both contain possible spoilers for those new to the show.

  2. ABC1 may have to swim against currents of outrage, but eventually they’ll reach the Island of Reason where they can explain to anyone without an Internet connection that it’s not their fault Outcasts got cancelled, but BBC One’s… I’m sure ABC1 will stay afloat.

  3. Bad move by ABC1. It’s reported that despite a major cliffhanger for Series 1, the show was cancelled. Expect ABC1 to drown in outrage.
