  1. Hey… it’s like the 20/20 cricket tonight. Give us a little silliness in between or it just ain’t Eurovision, is it? Or is it Rage with people singing in English as a second/third/fourth/fifth language? Anyway, love it – whatever. Have loved it for too many years to be cool……..or…….

  2. Sorry but in the final in the last 6 winners of the whole thing have been from performances drafted in last 8 singers in the final line up. So going first in the final is actually a bad thing according to history. Semi Final 1 i loved azerbajaan and ridiculous Norway didnt get thru. Greece was hot if the shut the greek version of pitt bull (the rapper) up as bearded singer was Ricky Martin Greece style. Good luck ding dong in Semi Final 2 (Dana International – Israel). SBS voting website last night….seriously dont bother. Commetators could have shut up a bit more and the best part of last night were the drummers……in between act.

  3. Meanwhile, I did love the dark haired female host, the other two, especially the guy were crap, but she was great, although she did look terrified when she started announcing the qualifiers!

  4. Good to see Serbia, Georgia and even Switzerland get through. I thought Armenia was classic Eurovision, how did that not get through?

And Hungary was good, although it was true she did look like Michael Bolton.

Norway should have got in. I thought Croatia, with two reveals and a key change, was a guaranteed top ten.

And really… Greece?? That wasn’t a top ten song.

And Portugal… well… at least it’s maintaining an ESC tradition…. up there with the Irish turkey and Alf Poier from Austria…..

  5. Turkey were terrible, probably the worst of the night. Norway definitely deserved to get through though. I’m happy about Georgia and Serbia anyway, they were easily the two best.

  6. In our Eurovision party Portugal was last, then Greece and Finland. So to see Greece qualify was a shock. The jeers that went around the room lasted so long we missed hearing Azerbijan qualify.

Our top ten in order was 1)Hungary then Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Croatia, Switzerland, Poland, Norway, Albania and Armenia.

  7. I think this is a really interesting result. Traditionally, those going first or second are more likely to get through, and those in the middle are ‘forgotten’ but this result turns that on it’s head.

That song from Finland is horrid. I passed out from being thumped over the head by the message.

  8. Norway not qualifying is quite the shock! They were early favourites, but drifted in the last few weeks, it’s curious none of the first five that performed on the night qualified, despite voting now opening at the start of the show!
