FremantleMedia Australia has announced a new addition to their executive production team, UK television executive Marion Farrelly, after citing an increase in its production output.
Farrelly was most recently the Entertainment Executive with UK producers Princess Television, Shine’s UK production company. Prior to this Farrelly was the Executive Editor of Format Entertainment with the BBC, and the Executive Producer of It Takes Two and Step Up To The Plate. She also has extensive experience as a Development Producer, primarily with the BBC.
She previously worked with Southern Star Endemol on seasons 4, 5 and 6 of Autralia’s Big Brother plus other projects.
At FMA Farrelly will share a title of Director of Television Content with Cathie Scott, overseeing Australia’s Got Talent, The X Factor, The Farmer Wants A Wife, MasterChef, Grand Designs Australia and Project Runway. Scott and Farrelly will both support Director of Programming, Tim Clucas.
Clucas said, “A television executive with Marion’s experience, both in a broad range of genres as well as numerous territories, is rare. FremantleMedia Australia consider ourselves very fortunate to have secured Marion to help maintain and grow our diverse production slate.”

Having worked with Marion in the past all I can say that she is an absolute creative dynamo. This is a real coup for Freemantle.
yet another sickening example of the constant flood of brits into our industry..
@Rob: Yeah mate, most of them and the editors are imports too! LOL
@Buddha/shintaro: must be tough getting knocked back for a loggers job on Renovators…. 🙁
@ Buddha, you are absolutely right. It’s a one way street.
Yet another Brit sponsored over here on a high salary while many talented Aussies can’t get a look in in the UK – and now it seems here as well. I can think of a dozen local names with the qualifications to handle this job.
Does anyone know who the big boss is in Fremantle. Is it still Hogg?
There are times when i feel sorry for production companies. They work so hard and are so creative to bring an entertainment shows, only to have it stuffed around half the time by the commercial networks.
It must be frustrating at best
Isn’t this Fremantles last season of Masterchef with rights transferring back to Shine next year? Or do Shine now hold the rights but still license Freemantle to produce it?
