Gone: Polar Bear: Spy on the Ice
Polar Bears are out, while The Big Bang Theory and Mike and Molly are in.

Nine has pulled its BBC documentary Polar Bear: Spy on the Ice just two days before it was set to air.
The two-part “spycam” doco, which follows from previous docos with up close and personal footage of wild animals, was set to screen at 7:30pm Wednesday June 1 & 8.
Now it will air new episodes of The Big Bang Theory at 7:30pm and Mike and Molly. They are followed by RPA and Big.
Hopefully when it eventually airs it will still have narration from David Tennant, even with his Scottish accent…

Way to dumb down people’s intelligence by replacing a cute documentary with some brainless drivel crap sitcoms.
It is enough to make anyone want to get a library or video store membership and gain either some real intelligence or escape the rubbish that exists on the idiot box.
I personally blame Eddie Everywhere for letting Nine go to the Dogs.Gone are the days where 4 to 6pm was for Kids and Family Friendly Viewing like it was in the eighties and nineties And 7PM was game show hour none of this brainless outdated US Sitcom garbage during ratings seasons amongst many other things.
Was it moved because of competition from Masterchef?
I’d watch that doco on Saturday after Air Crash Investigations on Ch 73. Which nowadays ends at 9.35-45pm. Because I’m uninterested in the ridiculous Unsolved Mysteries. I’ll admit I don’t know how it rate.
Would you have got the showreel that reveals the narrator, David? It was screened on the TV the other day as a package lauding Ch.9 as “the home of adventure” or “the home of action” or something, and the polar bear promo (with narrator) was included in that. Unless I am misremembering the whole thing, which isn’t totally out of the question.
Can’t remember who it was going to be but I definitely remember that the Ch.9 promos for this show were pushing an aussie celeb as the narrator, not David Tennant.
Mike and Molly – is a good show and has been doing great business in the US where it’s been given a 2nd season. Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy are fantastic comedic actors. Trust me the show gets better towards the end of the season.
@Kev – I hope you’re wrong.
I just hope Nine re-schedules it soon or just puts them in GEM in HD.
I bet when the polar bear doco returns it’ll have a JulesLund/Richard Wilkins/Eddie McGuire/Karl Stefanovic (pick one) narration track instead of David Tennant.
There are only 3 new episodes left of Big Bang Theory, so I would have been surprised if Nine had used them so quickly, especially with the Monday episodes rating so well. Maybe Nine were hoping for confusion as to whether they were new or repeat episodes so viewers would tune in anyway, not wanting to miss out on a new episode. Reporting a new episode in your article, David, is achieving just that.
Yep, Janey is right. According to the Foxtel EPG, tomorrow night’s episode is a repeat. Also, next week’s episode (June 8th – not 9th, David) is scheduled as a repeat as well.
According to yourtv.com.au, Big Bang Theory is not a new episode tomorrow night, but a repeat “The Gothowitz Deviation”. Did Nine originally have a new episode and then change it to a repeat…or have you reported the new episode as a mistake David?
I’ve reported the info as supplied to me, but I might add it was via a publicist rather than an amendment so I’m not surprised there is confusion…
Here we go again with these stupid TV channels, I was looking forward to this, I guess I will just hunt around on the net until I can find a copy of the DVD to buy and will give up on ever seeing it on free to air TV!
Aw….. 🙁
I wanted to tape it… (And the only other show I touch on 9 is Come Fly with me)
More BBT…
I’ve only seen snippets of Mike and Molly. Meh…
Cute but dangerous Polar Bears are so much more interesting…
@Steveany – Suspect it might be the other way around if the cub’s mother catches you!
Yep, we def need more mediocre sitcoms instead of a quality doco. Suppose we should be grateful to have been given so much more notice than fans of Vampire Diaries were. Nice one Nine.
How can they still air Mike and Molly? I thought only 3 people watched that god awful show.
winning
How much can a Polar Bear , it sucks.
nine good reasons to go away
typical channel 9
I also was looking forward to watching this, bloody Channel 9 you Plankers with a W.
Channel 9’s new slogan should be called no one is home not welcome home.
You have got to be fraken kidding me!
I was looking forward to this and now Nine (once again) goes and disappoints their shrinking audiance!
I’d just buy the DVD if I had the cash.
Replacing a cute documentary with two lame Chuck Lorre sitcoms. No one can really be surprised…
Remove intelligent TV for mindless drivel… and whats GO and GEM for??
Well, bugger. I wanted to watch this.
Look at that cub, couldn’t you just cuddle it to within an inch of it’s life?
Yay!!! Mike and Molly’s back!!!!
9 What are you doing? Do you even know?
