The World Game: Football Forum

SBS football show The World Game will host a football fan forum next week to be broadcast in two, one-hour specials in June.

SBS football show The World Game is going on the road for the first time, set to host a football fan forum on Tuesday 24th May.

Hosted by Les Murray, the forum will take place in front of an audience of 250 football fans and will feature a panel of some of the biggest names in the football community. Socceroos coach Holger Osieck will be joined by Ben Buckley, CEO Football Federation Australia; Matildas coach Tom Sermanni; Brendan Schwab, Chief Executive of the Australian Professional Footballer’s Association; and Sebastian Hassett, Journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald. SBS Chief Football Analyst Craig Foster and former Socceroo and SBS Football Analyst David Zdrilic will also be on the panel.

The night’s discussion will focus around Australia’s national football teams, including the Socceroos and Matildas, and the future of football in Australia, including the A-League.

“The World Game Football Forum is the first time we have taken the show on the road,” says Les Murray. “To have some of the biggest names of football together in the same room as the fans, talking about the issues that really matter is an exciting proposition and will only help to further grow the beautiful game in this country.”

  1. @Pete – yes, I’m also interested to know whether Buckley and the FFA have learnt some lessons from their woeful handling of the league’s finances to date.

  2. Good to hear as I doubt something like this will come to Perth anytime soon.

I will be watching and hoping for some answers from Ben Buckley…
