TEN has announced a third season for Southern Star drama, Offspring.

TEN has announced a third season for Southern Star drama, Offspring.

The Logie-nominated drama (starring the Logie winning Asher Keddie) is one of TEN’s three primetime dramas, two of which are delivering drama points for the network.

Chief Programming Officer, David Mott said: “Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to announce more of our favourite relationship drama. Offspring continues to deliver strong audience numbers and particularly in the highly desirable 18-49 demographic. Audiences and advertisers love it.”

Both seasons so far have consisted of 13 episodes.

Produced by John Edwards and Imogen Banks, the third season will begin production later in the year.

  1. Offspring is the best show ever. Please keep Patrick and Nina together as they have great chemistry. Perhaps Chris could come back to stir things up a little, just as long as Nina ends up with Patrick in the end. They are just perfect for each other.

  2. Does that mean it will air later this year?

Aren’t TEN still having trouble meeting their local content quota? This might have something to do with it as well

  3. Good on TEN with sticking with something that is not a cop show, yes I know it revolves around doctors but it’s not over powering and more about their private lives.

  4. I thought it was renewed a while back David, I swear I read here on tvtonight that season 3 would air in the back half of 2011 to fill TEN’s lack of local content?

Is that still the case or will Season 3 start next year?

  5. I thought Offspring was already renewed for a third season and that it would immediately air after the second season this year? Something about Ten wanting to increase their local drama points in the wake of Neighbours moving to Eleven.
